A small giggle escape her lips after overhearing the other. “You know,” She started, “from an employee standpoint they should just get you the utensils without the strange looks.” If Renata had been the girl’s server that’s what she’d do. The customer was always supposed to be right or whatever after all. “In they’re defense though, you gotta admit requesting silverware for finger food is kind of an odd request.” Off the top of her head she couldn’t think of many people who would do it other than maybe her dad, but comparing this poor girl to her father was truly insulting. 

       ❝  SEE ?  IT’S NOT  like i’m asking for much or whatever  ---  you can’t be a food establishment and not have  food utensils !  ❞   her voice increases in pitch towards the end of the sentence ,  but she doesn’t bother checking if people had heard her small complaint ;  she had a right to be frustrated !  luckily ,  it is only a second or two before one of the employees brings her a knife and fork ,  for which she thanks them  graciously .  ❝  oof ,  finally ...  but yes ,  i knew you would understand .  so maybe it is a bit odd ,  but you know what i think is odd ?  that people this day and age are okay with eating  like cavemen !  but oh well ,  to each their own ...  ❞   yet nerissa would never understand how some people did not agree with her .  oh well ,  one day they would .  with a bright smile on her lips ,  she turned her focus to her friend .  ❝  anyway ,  how have you been ,  rennie ?  i feel like it’s been forever since we hung out ...  you have to come visit me at the beach !  ❞

what is the best part of your job, the worst thing you've ever seen, and something that comforts you when you're upset?

      ❝  THE BEST PART  is that i get to be at the beach all day ,  which feels like being home !  the worst thing  —  and i see this constantly  —  is people expecting me to go out into the water to help them ,  which apparently i am obligated to do .  i know i’m a lifeguard and all ,  but it’s not  my fault  these people can’t swim !  anyway …  something that comforts me when i’m upset ?  dante and vienna .  always dante and vienna .  my boyfriend is the  absolute sweetest  when i need extra love ,  spoiling me left and right ,  and vi is just the best !  one time ,  i was having a bad day and she surprised me with ice cream and both our favorite movie  —  heathers !  ❞   ✧   @hellpriince  /  @snvkcskin

      i.  because of the constantly feeling of betrayal in her gut ,  nerissa finds it extremely hard to trust absolutely anyone .  she will go as far as making herself unpleasant  ( which isn’t difficult but still )  just to be left alone by someone .  sometimes she even questions whether or not she should trust dante as much as she does ;  however ,  it then occurs to her that she can’t quite remember an instance where he wasn’t around ,  which makes her assume that maybe he isn’t someone she should worry about .  maybe .

      ii.  she can hold her breath underwater for an abnormally long amount of time ,  which is frankly one of the main reasons why she was hired as a lifeguard .  in fact ,  nerissa feels a hundred times more comfortable surrounded by water than she does anywhere else ,  be it in a bathtub or at the beach .  she doesn’t really know why though ,  as neither of her parents seems to care much for swimming or the like .  she feels quite out of place because of that .

       iii.  nerissa is claustrophobic .  one of her most recurring nightmares is that of being trapped in a small place  —  similarly to a casket of sorts .  along with that ,  those nightmares usually include the sounds of people crying outside ,  yet she can’t bring herself to open her eyes or even say anything .
