HCG Diet: Phase 2 explained
After having managed Phase 1 (the „loading“-phase) you should be feeling so full that dieting doesn’t sound too hard anymore. However, the first days of Phase 2 were the toughest for me. I was hungry and I felt like I literally had no energy left. After you got through the struggle of the first few days, though, it only gets better and better! Anyways, let me explain how Phase 2 works.
Essentially, in Phase 2 you only eat 500 calories per day and drink lots and lots of water. It’s very important to observe the exact amount of calories you eat, so make sure to weigh your food and keep a diary. Also don’t forget to take your sublingual hCG drops.
There are a lot of foods that are not allowed during Phase 2. I’m not going to provide you with a huge list (most likely you get that list with the HCG drops you purchased anyways), however, I’m going to give you some guidelines for each meal of the day.
We start with breakfast. To get to the point: there is no breakfast. You are allowed to drink herbal tea or coffee, though. You can use sweeteners; however stay away from sugar, honey and milk.
For lunch you are going to have your first bites of food.  You are allowed to eat one type of vegetable and one fruit. When I was in phase 2 I ate a big lettuce salad every single day. Not only is it healthy, but lettuce has basically no calories. Dressings usually contain a lot of oil and/or sugar so you have to keep an eye on that. Vinegar is fine. Spices are fine, too. Oil and sugar are not. Simple. Additionally, you have to make sure to eat some protein - 100g of lean meat or fish is perfect – as well as some dried bread, such as a bread stick or melba toast. Â
Last but not least: dinner. I wish I had more to tell you about dinner. But I have to disappoint you. Dinner is basically the same as lunch. Same amounts too.  I suggest you to mix up the types of vegetables, fruits and meat you eat. You don’t want to get bored by the foods you eat since it’s enough that you are eating very little calories on the HCG diet. There are tons of good recipes on the internet for Phase 2. I’ll try to post some here on my blog, too.
