New Experiences

I started out this blog wanting to try new experiences. I've done that and more in the last few years. I have traveled the world, lived in Australia, run multiple races and now taken up crossfit. I have finally settled down in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with my future hubby and fur-child and am loving it!

Well baby girl is now 6 months and big boy is 2 2/2! I don’t know where the time is going anymore. We just got back from a week away in Florida and it was much needed. Covid has now popped up in Logan’s daycare class a few times and the stress of having him stuck in the house for so long and so often is a lot. We’ve had some viruses run through our household. One that put Rylee in the hospital and one that was pretty severe for me. But we’re finally all pretty healthy and am really hoping it stays that way! We’re just gearing up for a trip up to NY next month and then the holidays. The rest of the year is sure to fly by 😳😊

It’s been a crazy and hectic 7 weeks but Rylee joined the family on March 19th! It was a scary end to my pregnancy and then she spent some time in the NICU. But here we are, back to work already and both kiddos in daycare. Time is flying by with these two!

My last post was when Logan was 6 months old. Here we are almost 1 1/2 years later 😳 How did we get here so fast?!? He turns 2 in March and not long after, his new sister will arrive. Almost 2 under 2! We always knew we wanted 2 children, but we honestly didn’t think the 2nd one would be so close to the first. It took over a year to conceive Logan and only 2 months for baby girl. It was quite a shock! Being pregnant during a pandemic is definitely different than the first go around. My husband was only allowed to one appointment (the anatomy scan), no baby shower (although my wonderful coworkers threw me a little one this week) and I’ll be covid tested before my scheduled c section 😬 But all of this won’t matter in 10 weeks when we finally complete our family. That’s my quick little update from our family. Hope y’all are also staying safe and healthy!

Logan turns 6 months tomorrow. How did that happen so fast?!?! I am loving his personality that he is developing. He smiles all the time (except for when he’s having a meltdown cause I can’t get him the bottle fast enough 😂) and is starting to use his hands to explore our faces 🥰

His docband is also going extreme well. 3 weeks in and they already see substantial progress! He still has at least 2 months left with it and they’re still talking about a second band after that. We’ll see when we get to that point.

Ryan and I are about to leave Logi for the first time in 2 weeks. His mom is coming down for a week to visit and we are taking the opportunity to take a little visit down to Cancun for 5 days. I am so looking forward to a little R&R especially since I have been chronically sick for the last few weeks now. Buuutttt.... I am already missing him and we haven’t even left yet 😭 Luckily we have WiFi down there and can FaceTime him everyday.

Other than that, we’re just ready for fall to get here! It’s been a pleasant summer here in Texas but am definitely ready for leggings and sweaters 😂

My baby is growing so fast!!! He also got his docband last to start fixing his flat head. He’s been doing so well in it and hasn’t had any problems sleeping in it, hallelujah!

Where did my little baby go?!?? Pretty soon he’ll be sitting up on his own. I just can’t handle that yet 😭😂😍

What a week! The hubby came down with some kind of virus early in the week. Fever, puking, the whole bit. I was solely on baby duty so he wouldn’t catch anything. Instead, I caught it! Luckily mine wasn’t as bad. Just fever, nausea and body aches. I had one night off before the husband relapsed and I was back caring for Logan 🙄 Men. Lol Feeling back to normal today and I’m taking Logi with me to book club at my friends pool 😎

Logan is 11 weeks today!!! How is time going by so fast?!?! He finished his first week of daycare since my mom left to go home on Tuesday. I think he’s loving it there and I love that I can pop on the app at anytime and watch him on the cameras 😂 My husband wonders if I actually work at work now lol This is our first weekend with very little planned so it feels nice to just hang out and relax. In fact, I think taking a nap right now sounds delightful 😊

I can’t believe how fast 2 months has gone by! I am so blessed to have a baby that sleeps through the night already and is so chill during the day 😁

Can’t believe I only have 1 week left at home with this little man. I’m excited for my mom to get here next week (she’ll be watching Logan for a month!!!!) and to have human interaction during the day 😂 but will miss him soooo much!!!! 💕

Baby Logan was born Saturday 3/2/19 weighing 9lbs 9oz and 22 inches long! Delivery got complicated and so a c section was done. Those are no joke and since I had complications during the procedure, we ended up staying at the hospital for 4 days 😱 But we’re home now and Logan is loving it! He’s fast asleep in his swing while mommy naps 😁

Still pregnant over here with my torpedo baby!!! His due date is Saturday but I have a feeling he’ll go until Monday when we have a scheduled induction 😭 Fingers are still crossed that he’ll come tomorrow for hubby’s birthday but if that’s the case, we would have to get this going soon. So yeah.... most likely Monday. Ugghhhh 🤦‍♀️

Baby boy should be making an appearance in the next 2-3 weeks! I’m on bed rest this weekend for high blood pressure and if it’s still high next week, I’ll be done with work and on permanent bed rest until baby arrives on his own or they induce me early 😬 So excited and scared at the same time!!!

Just over here praying these next few weeks go by fast! Baby shower next weekend and then the hubby is gone for work the first week of February (😬) and then baby boy can make an appearance whenever he wants! 😂

I actually did some baby shopping last night! I don’t know why it’s taken me so long.... but we’re also going to register tomorrow 😮 I’m very overwhelmed with everything we need so I’m going to start a list. Lists are key to keep you on track!

Less than 4 months to go 😱 With the holidays coming up, I feel like the new year will be here before I know it. Maybe now is a good time to actually start shopping for the baby?? Not sure why I keep putting it off... 🤷‍♀️

So things have been a little crazy over here in the last few months since I last posted. In a nutshell, I lost my job, finally found a new job, found out we were pregnant 🤰, my best companion in life Moxy unexpectedly passed away 🐶 and then we found out the baby was a boy! Ugh, I’m tired just thinking about the roller coaster of life I’ve been on 😂 I just celebrated my 35th birthday this week and really thought back on what 34 brought me. It was the worst of years and yet the best of years 🤷‍♀️ Looking forward to the next chapter in life and our baby due in March ❤️
