hello tumblr, my safe spot for who I used to be, feels nice to post after my radio silence i turn 21 on Friday, this is the last picture I'm taking of myself of myself at 20 because I feel like it captures my attitude after the last year of my life birthdays make a nice earmark in time for how much is actually passing and how much (or how little) has happened in our lives, and gives me a good earmark to use the gift of reflection i have faced the reality of death, illness, heartbreak, love and acceptance in the past year and have had to grow quite a bit because of it. This birthday is interesting because I had this year marked with goals and plans, of that I have fulfilled almost none, and I'm okay with it because life doesn't always turn out how you expect. I have seen everyone in my life go through an incredible growth year as well and I commend all of them for their strength and how thankful I am that these people are still in my life. I appreciate every person who has stuck around with me as life has become turbulent and I hope they all know how much I love and care about them. This birthday I am glad to see another year and to share more time with those I love. Thank you for sticking around. Here's to 21.

Did you go through with it?

yeah I did. it was one of the most difficult things I've ever done but also one of the most rewarding. I have never been more confident in my own strength than I have been now, recovering from the effects of the relationship. just because you love someone, doesn't give people the right to treat you unfairly. love yourself enough to get out of a bad situation and find a way to move on.
