Progetto Atelier - Michele Congiu 2012
CAGLIARI / INTERFACE PORT-CITY / MICHELE CONGIU / 2006
Writing architectural narratives is an account divided into four parts. The initial critical essay describes the logical and theoretical issues representing the basis of drawings. This first part is followed by architecture narrations through images and descriptions. Afterwards, the photo-graphical impressions that influenced the creative process are unveiled and finally, audio compositions pursue a sound to represent these conceptual spaces, by acoustically interpreting the different aspects drawings try to reveal. The different types of meeting places are the main theme of these narratives: small city museums, art galleries, showrooms, pubs, open air areas, but also residential, private and common spaces. Starting from the consciousness of the process connected to the information society, the collection of drawings originates from creative instincts directed to searching new spatial configurations and expressive opportunities. Architecture narrations do not aim at inventing future buildings but at communicating a planning purpose by looking into the linguistic structures of a possible architectural layout. Illustrations do not refer to something which is immediately recognizable but to a spatial structure that can be interpreted through one’s personal processes. Drawings turn to the intimate sphere of people and to imagination, allowing different interpretations.
