A few years ago back in high school, I had a bad ED and would take to tumblr a lot about it, my blogs would get deleted but usually I wouldn't care, but one time, I actually had a main blog that was my scene kid account. I used to go nuts making Kandi and dressing up and dancing to EDM in my room and reading old jhonen vasquez comics and it was really one of the few hobbies/interests that brought me joy still in that state. Thing is, I used to post pics of myself on the disordered side blog as well, and even if I hadn't, it was a tumblr ED blog, it was eventually going to get taken down. When they deleted the side one, the main went with it, and I remember being absolutely heart wrenchingly devastated that my one safe space left in my life that the disorder hadn't touched got taken away because of the disorder itself. I managed to hit like a thousand followers on that old thing, I had mutuals and posted all the time and felt I'd finally found my community and ever since I lost that I've slowly lost my scene look and hobbies because I had nobody to connect to about them and got bullied out of stuff a lot irl and it makes me so so so fucking sad. I'd do anything to just get that blog back, even though by now it's far too late and my friends would probably all be gone from there. I just miss the one time I got to have one on here that was truly just my joy and the things I made and I haven't gotten to have that so purely since. I guess there's not really a point to this whole thing, I just never got to talk about it and it always just made me really upset and I wanted to put it somewhere that seemed safe, and confession blogs make me feel nostalgic and warm inside, sooo, hi?

Awh queen. This is so sad. I need you to know that you have all the time in the world to rediscover the things that made you happy. You obviously can’t get your blog and your friends back but its never too late to start again. It’ll never be quite the same but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be worse, especially now that youre recovering. Starving makes it hard to enjoy things, so who knows, maybe you’ll love it even more this time. You’ll never know if you don’t try. All love to you ❤️

I don't think that scenecore is that bad because its mostly little kids trying to find their style, I mean, of course they shouldn't call themself scene if they arent but still they're just little kids trying their best. i mean that ppl react too harshly on them and bully 12 year olds off the internet when we all had cringey poser phase

I think scenecore is not even a widespread thing anymore, people who complain about it are complaining a couple about middle schoolers buying stuff off the hot topic racks with their parents money, at least they have accessories on, at least they’re trying you know? The posers I see now are a different species of low effort basic ass dressers trend hopping. When i was a middle schooler wearing litteral pounds of kandi on the daily I was spending hours on that shit. I have spoken to two scenecore esque kids at my school and they are genuinely interested in getting more scene they are just 11, they still are wearing a bunch of their clothes from elementary school.

As the style has gained more popularity in the last year ive seen more people thinking that theyre scene because they put one raccoon tail in their hair. This is annoying especially off the internet

-public and widespread encouragment of eating disorders

-casual extreme racism and sexism

saying people can’t be scene without a single specific hairstyle that was made for one specific hair type and takes a lot of upkeep especially for anyone without straight-wavy hair is exclusionary and racist as hell. imagine demanding people wear a wig or be excluded because their hair isn’t able to Do That One Thing without excessively damaging it. ew. on a totally benign level of enjoy haterism for the sake of haterism your blog is fun but also it’s massive self-parody as the thrust of your posts are about how there are so many “scene posers” out there. yet you are hiding behind a faceless, nameless blog claiming to be holier than thou. not saying that anyone has to be totally transparent on the internet (probably better to be anonymous on the net considering how much of a data scrape it is, im being anonymous right now so theres a lot to be said about that) but it does make the whole veneer of “there is this group out there i am apart of and i am definitively correct and perfect at being apart of it but then there’s gobs of people who are insolent little cronies who are not good at it and i am the one who knows this. Genuinely what's the point of even claiming that askers aren't allowed to be racist and then posting the shit you do about people's hair. Like if you "can't be scene" without "scene hair" (Google that phrase right now and look at what percentage of the examples are 4c hair I dare you. Don't try to pretend like you didn't mean "straight hair" here) but also wigs are tacky poser behavior or whatever tf then what is even being asked of Black scene kids here? To constantly keep their hair straightened so as to maintain hairstyles that you call "literally so easy" because that's what they are for you?

Also, I'll be honest, even if you're still going to try and claim that that wasn't your intent in letting those asks be posted, it's the sort of thing that this type of blog... lends itself to by nature??? Like it's 2026; trying to claim that scene culture is the social norm (catagorically what is being implied within the claim that any significant number of people is posing as scene for social status) is just.... kind of ridiculous. So anyone trying to convince you that "fake scene kids" are unironically an issue is someone who is very much preoccupied with being at the top of a heirarchy. They don't like thinking about how aligning themselves with something counterculture could materially affect them, so instead they pretend it's trendy and desirable to the average person, and invent an outgroup who is failing at the totally real rules. Which is obviously the sort of mindset that lends itself to bigotry like clockwork.

Like you literally let a post go through about ~ugly haired bitches who are bad at makeup but get too much Instagram clout~ (paraphrasing but the tone very clearly implied that 500 likes= significant clout, which I'm aware is insane in the context of basically any trending insta reel but therefore does kind of drive home my point about trying to pretend scene kids are normalized) without stopping to think "are these statements functionality indistinguishable from cookie cutter sexist insults", cmon now
