Currently very tired of obnoxious not-like-the-other-British-people English people.
I say it like that because they are always almost English but never call themselves that because they think saying they are English promotes division and is something only right-wingers do.
Frequently found in the comments section of Guardian consumer advice columns, talking about how they’ve moved to mainland Europe where everything is perfect and no one ever has problems getting a refund for something or a dispute over energy bills. Also the delays with the UK passport office are terrible because it’s forced them to spend weeks walking around without ID, which is illegal where they live. But it’s definitely the passport office delays which are the bigger issue here.
Also the guy from the department who spent the entire lunch break today telling everyone who could listen about his planned holiday to somewhere not particularly interesting in France (the French people commented on it as somewhere they’d stopped at a motorway service station). He wanted to go somewhere more interesting, but unfortunately those places will be “full of British people”, who are definitely nothing like him and who he looks down on for going on holiday to a place they actually want to visit.
