“I have a lot of memories of when I was trying to get signed at first. What I used to hear the most from a record label was “We already have one girl. We don’t need another girl!”, even though I looked nothing like the girl they have already or sounded nothing like her. It seemed to be the general response I got when I was trying to get picked up. “We already have one girl, we don’t need another one” like “We already tick that box!”. Now it’s so different! Now it’s like record labels can’t find enough girls, they know that girls are selling and girls are where it’s at. And now it’s so different than it was when I was trying to get sign 10 years ago.
