Morning Glory, Night's Shade is a Sun and Moon Show fanfic written by @dreamymem0ries that takes place in an alternate universe where after the episode 'Brothers Reunite! in VRCHAT', Solar suddenly opens the front door, and his mind, to a Nexus who finally manages to ask for help. Unfortunately for Nexus, Dark Star Power and it's consequences don't go away immediately. When an unexpected and life-threatening system malfunction caused by Dark Star Power brings everything to a halt, Solar is left with two choices; save Nexus' life and convince the others to spare him, preventing any more chaos and returning Nexus to his original self, or let the one and only chance he'll get to save the one he cares for so much slip like sand between his fingers.

If you're willing to share, how closely or loosely does this AU follow the original show's events? Asking because I'm curious whether Jack will still end up being kidnapped by the Creator (and, if so, whether he will also go through DSP withdrawls). I'm sure Solar and Nexus would handle that well...

Without spoiling too much, I can confirm for sure that the Creator arc does in fact happen in MGNS... And that's about all I can give for now. I tend to plan a few chapters ahead of the one I'm currently working on, so 16 and some of 17 is planned out, and I'm still working on 15 as we speak.

Here's the general plan so you guys can prepare mentally:

Chapter 15 is gonna be chill, some little calm and cute things before things turn south. As they tend to in TSAMS. I think the Creator arc will start towards the end of 15, it's planned to be beginning of chapter 16 but 15 is also still in drafting, so things may change. Chapters 16, 17, and maybe even the start of 18 are most likely gonna be the Creator arc. I'll have to check the episodes all the way back to Dec 2024 to refresh on the timeline since I do still want it to atleast KINDA be closer to canon.

So yeah. 15 chill, 16-18(?) is pure hell, and everything past that is to be determined based on the canon timeline. I'm seriously considering simply skipping to the Overseer arc after a chapter or two of all that fluffy healing stuff. Because why would they have a perfectly good life even in an alternate universe, am I right? hhehhh,,.,.

Author Update!

The next chapter may be like… another week in the works because I had to fix a plot hole… I have most of it down, now that it’s summer I know for sure I have all the time I could possibly need to complete Chapter 12.

It just might take a while since I’m currently focused on concepts for more MGNS redesigns and recovering from my STILL-PRESENT LUNG SICKNESS. Yes. It’s been 2 weeks. Apparently it’s bronchitis. Hard to focus when you can’t fucking breathe correctly, but trust Ill try my best—

Important thing just popped up for fic writers and artists

Hello everyone! I'm writing this because I've locked my fics on AO3, due to a GenAI scrap of AO3. Most of my works are sadly affected, and have thus gotten stolen, except for like the newest two. @morriganfey has locked hers down too, and some others may too in the future.

If you want to read my works, whether new ones or old ones, you should get an AO3 account! I promise it makes things much easier!

If you're a writer on AO3, you might want to take a look at this Reddit post, see if any of your works are affected

This is a problem regardless of fandom or anything. If your fics weren't locked down already, and they fall between a certain number of ids, then it got stolen.

Now I've tagged this with mostly my own fics and the fandoms I've been posting fics in, but I've also tagged some Anti-AI tags and some tags relating to AO3, so hopefully a couple more people will see it too.

It'd be great if people could reblog this. Because regardless of fandom, this is a problem for everyone, both for artists and for writers
