Tutoring

Final exams were only a week away, and Saki found herself behind - again. After briefly mentioning it to Arisa and Tohru, they - mainly Tohru - insisted that Yuki would be able to help her catch up before it was too late. 

Saki would have stood outside of their home and waited, but the door was left ajar. Slipping off her shoes, she let herself in and spotted Yuki in the kitchen - seemingly unaware of her presence. 

“I’m here for tutoring.” She said from behind him.

“Eh...?” The boy jumped back from her and the kitchen counter, placing his hands up in immediate alarm, then down in just as quick recognition. He’d been focusing on and trying to make a sandwich, but had made a small mess of things doing it.

“I’m sorry, Hanajima-san, I didn’t see you there. Yes, we should get started.” Yuki still wasn’t sure that this was a good idea, though he had accepted Tohru’s wish for him to tutor her friend in a heartbeat.

"What would you like to begin with?” he asked after a slight pause, somewhat nervous merely because of her usual, odd demeanor. But, as she was friends with Honda-san, she shouldn’t be too scary, Yuki thought... or, perhaps, that simply made her scarier, in contrast.

Because…because, in reality, there aren’t any people who are born with reasons to live. I think that…that everyone has to find their reason to live A reason to live. A reason to say that it’s okay to be here. A reason for being. Everyone must find out and then decide. Maybe in a dream, or in a job, or in a person. “The reason” you find might be unclear, uncertain, and unstable. Even though you may lose it, I want to have a reason for as long as I live. I also want one. And then, if it’s possible, I want to find it in somebody’s heart. I want to be able to live for someone.
