I started the Family Jewels legacy challenge and I’m PUMPED! Meet our founder, Alabaster Jewel! I’m already a little ways into this gen, Alabaster is in the Doctor career, has a boyfriend, Hall, and we’ve built up a (pretty bland, and empty) house!

  I don’t think the rules include this, but I did a classic legacy start on an empty lot with 0 Simoleans so we’re doing preeeetty well so far!

  I’ll include the gen tasks (and which ones have been completed) and a link to the Family Jewels legacy challenge by  @sugarcain-sims under the cut!

˗ˏˋ Gen One |  Alabaster ˎˊ˗

Alabaster crystals are a form of selenite gemstone, often used spiritually to purify and cleanse. It has been used to symbolize transparency and purity; it is also considered the protective stone for children and those “innocent at heart.” When meditating with alabaster, the wearer expands their ability to forgive others and themselves. Alabaster inspires positivity in the home. As the founder of your legacy, this Sim is optimistic, innocent, and openhearted. They are dedicated to their family, and love each member with all their heart - no matter how big their family gets.

A private engagement had Bryce in shock, and clearly, quickly, saying yes.

Bryce, previously, had believed she knew what love was. She loved her parents, and Silas, she loved the Autumn, and magic. . . but the love she felt for Juliet Whitlock held no candle to any of it at all.

They were acclimating rather well. Bryce’s nerves were still high, but her happiness grew, just as Silas’s had.

Now, it was a waiting game, and neither were all too patient.

Bryce was elated when she felt her baby kick, the reality setting in, that she’d soon have a child to call her own, she was overwhelmed with love and joy. . . until her child moved and kicked her square in the ribs.

There had been an accident.

Bryce didn’t exactly see this as her path, and she wasn’t sure how Silas would respond, considering they’d only been dating a matter of months. . . but he was calm. Supportive and logical, he soothed Bryce’s worries with the reassurance that they would figure this out together.

A baby spellcaster of their own. . .

Silas was becoming a regular around the Whitlock household. Staying into the early hours of the evening, when both he and Bryce dozed off without intention... maybe moving in was the next step.

It was moving quick, Bryce could admit this, but something about Silas just felt. . . right.

The Festival of Light, where wishes come true. . . Bryce had wildly suggested it, and she hardly though Silas would agree, but after tonight, they were officially exclusive.

Bryce had never been out dancing before, and she briefly though Silas was crazy for suggesting it. . . but she was glad she had agreed.

He was lighting up her life.

Obsessed with Bryce’s greenhouse/sunroom extension.

Silas stayed true to his word. He informed Bryce that from here on out, Wednesdays would be ‘date night’ and all she had to do was answer the door.

For their first routine date night, Silas showed Bryce one of his favorite restaurants in Newcrest.

Silas was a lot more charming than Bryce had originally anticipated. . . but she didn’t seem to mind so much.

B: So, you were born a spellcaster?

S: With a weak bloodline, yes. I had to work a lot harder with my magic. . .but you mastered the craft as a teenager?

B: Well, I dropped out of high school, lost contact with my family. . . all I had was magic.

S: You cut contact? Bold. . . Most people who take the drop choose to stay in touch with their prior lives. . . it must have been difficult.

B: I was told I had to hide my magic.

S: By a spellcaster?

B: By a werewolf. I trusted her word. . . I didn’t ask.

S: That’s a pretty big thing not to ask questions about!

B: I was a kid! With no friends!

S: Well, we need to get you some friends so you aren’t so gullible, kid!

B: I’m trying! What else would you call this?

S: Oh, I’m not trying to be your friend, Bryce Whitlock.

B: You’re not?

S: That’s why this is a date, explicitly.

B: Are you trying to court me, Silas?

S: No, none of that formal Magic crap. . . I want to take you on dates. Here.

B: Here?

S: Here. You’re lucky enough to have two realms to call your own, I want to share them with you.

B: I think I like the sound of that.

Silas didn’t have an ounce of nerves in his entire body.

He’d boldly given Bryce his number within minutes of meeting her, and made his intentions very clear the first time she invited him to her house for an afternoon of dinner and board games. . .

Bryce found it mildly amusing, and (at least for now) let him continue his theatrics. . . she had even agreed to a day in San Myshuno.

Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad idea?

Bryce was trying to get out into the world. To meet people, to get rid of the cloud of loneliness that followed her around since childhood.

So she went to a bar on New Years Eve.

And she just so happened to meet a rather open spellcaster, Silas.
