Tengo este pequeño proyecto personal llamado “La escritura de las calles” en donde por el momento estoy empezando a recolectar fotos de lo que todes escribimos en las paredes de Chile desde el día 18 de Octubre de este año. Lo primero que hice antes de crear la cuenta de instagram en donde voy a respaldar las fotos (además de mis dispositivos por si me la bajan en algún momento) fue salir, salir lo más que pude a fotografiar calles en mi bicicleta y ahora he subido las mejores que tomé (algunas son caca porque las tomé desde un mal ángulo o se mezclaban con otros rayados etc, no soy fotografa, soy lingüista así que na’ que hacerle).

Les escribo porque sé que hay muchos chilenes por aquí y quizás me podrían ayudar a que esto crezca un poco y quizás con el tiempo esto me permita hacer un estudio más acabado desde mi profesión hacia los mensajes que son millones ya y que con el pasar del tiempo van a ser borrados (a la gente como que le gusta lo fome y van a pintar todos esos edificios llenos de palabras bacanes, demandas, rabia, mucho sentimiento)

Así que eso. Para ayudarme solo quiero pedirles que difundan y que sean fotógrafos (da lo mismo si se les da o no) y construyamos ese espacio todos. Si deciden enviarme aportes tengan por seguro que siempre serán subidos con los créditos correspondientes -hasta ahora ya tengo a dos chiquillas lindas que me han enviado sus fotos @weirdo-with-cool-glasses y @siderreal- así que, por último, les dejaré lo que me sirve por si tienen fotitos que quisieran enviarme:

1) Tiene que ser grafitti o afiche pegado en la pared, el corpus que estoy buscando es ese. La gente ha hecho lienzos y cosas realmente maravillosas para mostrar en las marchas, pero me interesa la palabra que queda grabada en nuestras estructuras.

2) Como yo estoy en Santiago me interesa mucho el registro de otras regiones así que bienvenidos todos los que puedan aportar desde cualquier parte de Chile.

3) Indicarme el lugar (no exacto, sino que por ejemplo la ciudad) en donde se tomó la foto para ponerla en la descripción al subirla.

They are blocking communication, since an hour that there’s no information here in Chile! 9000 military men are on their way from the south to Santiago, helicopters are permanently flying over the zone, the soldiers are even threatening people who watch everything from their windows and they are pointing their guns to them, they are trying to sow fear; people who lived the coup d’état in 1973 are reliving what they went through, the situation is untenable. There will be no food in the next few days because the supermarkets are going to be closed, there are no ways to move through the city because there are no public transportation available. Hospitals are colapsing with hurt people, please don’t stop helping and spread the word, show them what we are going through!! We are being censored outside the country!!

About the situation in Chile

I am tired but I’ll be writing about this till it’s over. I have two blog post in my mother language and I’ll be writing more here (for people who speak my language). In this, my personal tumblr, I’ll be writing in english (language I have learn by myself, so I’m sorry if sometimes my grammar is weird) and answering any questions from people outside my country.

Now I’m gonna point out some things that you should know about our current situation today:

- Please don’t believe our press and news sources, even if you have access to them in some form because I’ve been informed that the broadcast to the rest of the world has been cut. This is important because the story they are trying to sell is the story of the government, that mainly means: “people are not being brutalized by police and military forces” and “this is just another riot caused by communist and criminals”.

- Policemen are getting inside the protest without uniforms, disguised as common citizens and the people suspect they are the ones starting the biggest fires in the capital and outside. I will be gathering photos and videos today to provide you here for research and to spread what is really happening inside the country.

- THIS IS NOT ONLY FOR THE SUBWAY (METRO) FARE RISE. Everything here is rising but the paychecks at the end of the month for the middle-low class, the food we daily buy, the water we use and drink, the electricity, everything is awfully expensive and they keep rising the prices with no arguments. Also, almost every day we are knowing about politics taking money for themselves from the people, they avoid paying taxes we have to pay or we are fucking criminals. The costs of college educations is ridiculously high (I studied and ended a career here and now my debt is around 20.000 USD/ 14.000.000 CLP/ 18000 EURO. I’ll be paying montly what I can for the next 20-30 years of my life)

- We had an alarming situation with rivers and creeks getting suddenly dry (this is not new), the official statements told us it was because of the sudden climate change. Today rivers and creeks are full with flowing water, fresh and clean. It was not the planet, they were stealing water and now they are giving it back. Are they afraid? I don’t know, but there is water, there is plenty of water now and it was like magic.

- Finally: We are getting scared of running out basics like food and medicine, but we are SO not done with this, the protest and riot started in the capital, Santiago, but by now it has extended to the entire country. Now we can talk about Chile.

Oh, and the president, Sebastián Piñera is hiding behind the military. His entire crew is doing this so. We are really close to another dictatorship.

Remember: The real protests are NOT violent. Violence starts when police arrests people for no reason, when they use their guns, their sticks, and they ARE using it.

Cuídense, si van a las protestas tengan precaución porque esos hueones no van a dudar en usar la fuerza contra cualquiera. Recién en la mañana vi un video de cómo un milico le pega con un palo a un niño que no debía tener más de 12 años. No le roben a sus vecinos, a los pequeños empresarios ni a las ferias libres. No ataquen a bomberos ni ambulancias. El pueblo protege al pueblo. Esperemos que esto acabe pronto.

Sadly I’m not living in Chile but fucks sake I’m Chilean nonetheless and this hurts so much… But seing my people gathering and rising against oppression is something I never thought I’d witness.

Though first the story I got to hear about this all mess was quite different and far from the truth. The first news I read said that bandits were burning metro stations and supermarkets after the rise of the metro issue. They truly made it seem like people had gone mad, that they wanted anarchy, and also my family told me something quite similar (and they live there…) but mainly because they believed what local media said.

I’m not used to believed what I’m told without searching further and hell, things weren’t that way AT ALL. See the footage from yourselves, hear my people scream in anger and fear against deaf and corrupted militar forces that only follow orders from a fucking thief with a tie. I’ve cried watching the footage, the real one that you don’t get to see in the news, because reality isn’t nice. Teens getting shot and hurt, one of them is struggling between life and death after getting shot in the head AND HE IS JUST A BOY!! Cops aiming inside houses when the order was to shoot to those who wandered by the streets (not that that’s a good thing), cops being more violent and bastard than even with those weaker than them…

But in Unity relies the strength of my people. It’s not about political colors, it’s about making your and our voices heard, because we’ve been quiet for way too long.

CHILE IS FIGHTING!

they are arresting people they are hurting people they are shooting people and animals they are hitting children, teenagers, adults and seniors they are entering private properties they are killing people they are running over people They are trying to force us to stop fighting to be afraid of losing everything, but we have nothing left. There are people injured, dead and others missing, they are cutting off our resources, they are scaring us with false news, they robbed us, they lied and intimidated us for years, but Chile said enough.

guys, the police here in chile are shooting teenagers who are protesting against the government and metro fare rise, it’s really happening and it’s frightening, please share information about this because the press here is trying to make as if this is just a little riot but it’s not, police started with teargas and now they are shooting at minors.

Here is what is happening now:

- We cannot get out of our homes without getting arrested or in the worst cases shot. The president announced a state of emergency which means the military is outthere with big ass guns and we are being watched and controled like a regimen.

- there are three people dead. They burned alive in a fire started at a supermarket right now.

- Our press channels ceased to livestream the news to the world. What we are watching now on national TV stays here. That’s why spreading the word on social media is so important.

- You may hear the fires are caused by the people protesting but we all KNOW they aren’t the ones setting random buildings, cars and buses on fire. Police never catches anyone for starting a fire, and the fires always start when people are protesting in a peaceful manner.

I’m Chilean, I live abroad but my family is in there. They don’t know what to expect for today much less for tomorrow morning. It’s total chaos, both by civilians that sadly started to loot and break private and public property and by our dear and beloved corrupted police forces that beat the crap out of every civilian they find on their way.

Tho… Not all damages are caused by civilians because once again, our dear and beloved currupted fuckipg cops love to desguise as normal people in order to spread chaos and have the permission to beat the crap out of people.

Things you ought to know:

It didn’t start because of the increase on the price of the public transport price, that was the last straw.

The living cost is way to high and the minimal amount earned per capita is actually low and not enough.

Pensions for elder people are also incredibly low and a considerable amount of elders have to find some way to keep working in order to survive.

Also, carabineros are known to detain street vendors (must of the time women that don’t have other option than selling food on the streets, sometimes they’ll just sell salads on tiny plastic bags to make some honest money) and they also threw all the merch to the trash can (if they can’t keep it with them). Besides of course, not being precisely gently with the detained people.

Parallel to the prior points mentioned, you must know that Carabineros de Chile, who should protect our people, are corrupt as fuck and they count with numberless privileges that they honestly don’t deserve by law (students and elders by instance shouldn’t pay public transportation according by the law but oh well… Guess who pays and who don’t).

Before some dumb fucking right wing asshole comes here to say “BUT IT’S THEIR JOB, THEY’RE RESPECTING THE LAW AND MAKE EVERYONE RESPECT IT BECAUSE SELLING WITHOUT PERMISSION IS ILLEGAL” yeah Juan Pablo del Basoalto y Tomiciç-Hoffmann, I would gladly take that shit in consideration if they weren’t FUCKING CORRUPT AND KNOWN FOR STEALING AND MAKING FUCKING MONEY WASHING AND BEING FUCKING SADISTIC AND TORTUROUS HYPOCRITES. And don’t dare to say shit @ me because I’ve seen enough footage to make my fucking stomach twist thanks to their ways of “making the law respected.”

Which, if they truly want to respect the law and for everyone to respect it, they should have behind bars the entire Chilean government.

You must also know that they’re all fucking thieves and a bunch of imbeciles that doesn’t care about us but only for they pockets. There is so much crap to it…

They literally raised their own paycheck (making and approving a new law OVERNIGHT) because they didn’t earn enough, poor babies, when there are truly important law projects resting on the senate hands FOR OVER A DECADE. Not to mention that the entire populations didn’t get any raise lol.

Oh, should we talk about the fact that the government was so mad because people started to evade payment of the public transport since Monday?? When they’ve been evading taxes, very significant and important taxes SINCE ALWAYS? BESIDES EVADING THE TRUTH AND THE FACT THAT THE PEOPLE DIDN’T WANT THE FUCKING TPP11 (there was a fucking plebiscite to it and the participation rate from the citizens was huge as ever!) AND THEY APPROVED IT NONETHELESS BECAUSE IT WOULD ONLY BENEFIT THEM??? They have sell our country, they have stole the bread from the worker’s hand and handed everything to others, to the rich, to foreigners, there is so much i could keep telling…

So after all of it, and more, the rise of the tickets was just the last straw.

People kept quiet long enough and now riot has taken place.

As always, militar forces abuse their power and people fear the most. I fear for my friends. I fear for the young. I fear for the women. I fear for the elder. I fear for them all.

We don’t know how this is going to end.

This started exclusively in the capital but has already spread to Other regions.

Spread the word. Let the world know.

Cuídense los unos a los otros.

Organícense y hagan temblar de miedo a esos conshesumares cuando se den cuenta que el poder no está en ellos sino que en ustedes, unidos.
