@nicetobeehere
at least when you are hanging out with yourself, you get to pick the music.
Focusing on what’s rooted in reality has reduced so much of my overthinking time. If a friend is already out of my life, there’s no point dissecting our interactions from back when we were friends. If I already broke up w someone, there’s no point thinking about the could-have-beens because they will never happen. If I’m into someone but it wouldn’t work for whatever reason, then it just doesn’t. Something just is or just isn’t. There’s a lesson to take from everything but I also don’t want to use that as a catch-all excuse of getting into the weeds for something when the weeds have already been cut off and it doesn’t even matter anymore
“But what if I did x differently—” but you didn’t “but what if that one thing was different” but it isn’t “but what if y suddenly changes” if it hasn’t for long enough that it has become a problem, then it won’t. The worst we can do for ourselves. Like the actual single worst thing. Is to live in hypotheticals of situations we can never change. And I understand being attached to a concept but it doesn't matter. If something’s gone it just is. If something can’t work out it just can’t. That’s okay
you cannot create people’s perception of you. you can only be you and let people think what they want. don’t let it get to you. most importantly, don’t let it control who you are.
If you:
lost your mother
are a mother who lost their child
don’t have a relationship with your mother
are a mother who doesn’t have a relationship with their child
have chosen not to be a mother
are yearning to be a mother
I’m thinking of you today

KhalsaAid
Khalsa Aid is fucking amazing. They're who you want to donate to, period.
This is one of the few cases where I advocate donating to organisations rather than individuals, because right now, in India, the breakdown of medical infrastructure is so bad that money won't help you. The effort is being carried out now by volunteers who are coordinating resources.
Khalsa Aid is a very old and proven and beloved organisation with absolutely no ties to the hindu government. In fact they have extensive ties to the still-ongoing farmer's protests. They are effective, established, trusted, and sound.

I had to pay another huge bill this week and it left us with no money for food so if anyone has anything to spare so my mom and I can eat for the week I’d appreciate it a ton! I’m sorry abt asking so much

I’m ever so glad that a report commissioned by the government has managed to find the absolutely no institutional racism exists in the UK whatsoever.
Or...you know...
Unfortunately, Richard Okorogheye has been found dead in Essex two weeks after being reported missing by his family.
The officers involved and the entire metropolitan police needs to answer for how they conducted themselves in the search.
The UK needs to take a long fucking look at itself.
Now the report has been looked at by UN Human Rights experts and, unsurprisingly, found to be a giant load of shite.
