can we be like 100% real for a second, i've been seeing this drama stemming from this one person complaining about rammstein showing support to the LGBT+ community, and the person seems to have the whole "allies shouldn't be vocal because it's meaningless unless they do something big" mindset, but like...as well as the kiss in moscow and at multiple other shows (which is in itself a big big thing!! it's a huge thing and as a rammstein fan and member of the LGBT+ community i couldn't be happier that my favourite band support me and others like me!! that they support us as a community and that they're vocal about it because not many big influential people in media are!!) i've heard that the flags they waved at the poland show were literally on loan to them from an LGBT+ support centre in poland, which makes an already huge show of support even better and more impactful!! not to mention the fact that representing all sexualities and gender identities positively has been an incredibly prevalent theme throughout rammstein's work, especially when one looks at till lindemann's lyrics. obvious songs that spring to mind are mann gegen mann and zwitter.
why is it apparently such a problem when allies show support to our community?? isn't it, in fact, the opposite?? surely it's something to be celebrated - rammstein showing support to the LGBT+ community creates a safe space at concerts for LGBT+ fans, it's an obvious and welcome show of support, and it's a kick in the face to any "fan" of rammstein who hates the LGBT+ community as it shows any true fan of the band wouldn't go around spreading hatred. but because they didn't show support to the LGBT+ community in the "correct" way, it's a bad thing?? the support that rammstein has showed our community recently has impacted many, many LGBT+ fans incredibly positively - myself absolutely included as a gay nonbinary trans man!!
if you're going to hate on the band for showing support and if you're going to send hate to any LGBT+ rammstein fan reacting positively to their favourite band showing that support, then just stop. your input isn't needed at all.
