Here’s some brand work I did with Blue Moon back in 2017. The concept was centered around the eclipse from 2017.
did you get hacked by a porn bot? unfollowing, gross
Hey! Yes, sorry for the spam! It’s been a rough 4-5 weeks of trying to get it sorted, but I think the nightmare is over.
Aaaaand We’re Back!
After one month of having my account hacked and about 600 spam posts trying to lure people to cam sites I’m back in control of my account. The moral of the story is CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS NOW. Thanks for your patience and Tumblr support for getting my account back.
Yesterday I made apple cider margaritas... and then I made a video about making them... confused? Don’t worry about it, just relax and have a cocktail 🤤
This weekend I got to play with the 2017 Mazda CX-5. I had a blast playing with the car especially since I own the previous model year and they’ve made some cool upgrades (especially in the Grand Touring version). The only problem is now I want the new one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Touristy Things in DC
The Bears Social Media Team hired me to take a Bears helmet to various haunted spots around Chicago. First off - THAT’S AWESOME! A major sports team asked me to make content for their social feeds, which basically means I’m a member of their team now. Like... right? I think that’s what that means.
Second, it was a PERFECT way to celebrate Halloween (aka my second favorite holiday). I went to 10 spots all over the Chicagoland area from cemeteries to sites of major tragedies (like the Eastland Disaster and the Iroquois Theater Fire), to places that are just supposed to have ghosts wandering around scaring the crap out of people.
You can see everywhere we went over on the Bear’s Instagram Page. Thanks to the Bears for bringing me off the bench for this one, and if you guys need anything else - like... some fresh photos of players, or someone to report what it’s like to be a season ticket holder or whatever - consider this an open letter to tell you that I’m down. BEAR DOWN!
I was approached by Aberlour Scotch Whisky to be a “brand ambassador” for lack of a better term. Basically they put me on contract for 5 months, sent me a case of product and said “Here, share this with your friends and introduce it to only good people”. Obviously any time you get something tangible for *nothing, that’s great - but when it’s really good whisky... well... I mean, that’s awesome. In any event - I’ll be posting some of my final photos for the project here along with BTS on how I do “product photography”.
To follow along you can see it as it happens on my Instagram, and here’s a link to Aberlour’s Instagram Page. To get an idea of what Aberlour is all about here’s a great site that has a review and tasting notes about the scotch. And finally here’s Aberlour’s Website. Now... it should go without saying, but unfortunately I feel the need to say it - Please, drink responsibly and only if you’re of legal age to do so. NEVER get behind the wheel after drinking. *by nothing I mean, I’m obviously putting my work and effort into it, but when a brand approaches me and gives me complete creative control with my content I really feel like I flourish. It’s so much more fun when the only box is my own creativity.*
Met up with my new friend Blake to help her collect some content for her blog. Check out her site here: http://blakevond.com

8 from this weekend.
Did you know I photograph weddings? It’s actually a pretty big part of my life that I don’t talk much about (on social media). You can see more here: http://gerberscarpelliweddings.com/
People on Wabash.
I guess this is a little like “Humans of Chicago” but during a break shooting a conference today I took a quick walk out in the Gold Coast and snapped some street portraits. I was trying to diagnose why I wanted to take photos of these people as opposed to the other people I saw on the street and I think it’s a combination of street style, confidence, and a certain spontaneous moment. These are in order of how I found them.

Latif was posing in front of a Lamborghini for his friend and I ran over and asked him to hold it for me. He very kindly did.
The man on the 3 wheel bike drove by like a bat out of hell. I didn’t speak to him.
Alex was walking by and I liked his style. Something about the fresh sneaks, camo pants, tattoos and “Chicago Native” hat really worked for me.
Molly and Jim I liked because they basically contrast each other. I liked the fact that she was carrying a bag from a Candy store and they were rocking ... what I would call a “cotton candy” style color palette. There’s something really awesome about walking around and making spontaneous portraits. I’d like to make this a series, but we’ll see if I can keep it up.
On my way to work this morning.
