AU where shortly after Dragon takes Sabo in, a surveillance photo with the both of them in it makes it way to Marine headquarters where Garp sees it. Immediately Garp writes a letter to Dragon like “WHY DID YOU KIDNAP MY GRANDSON.” And Dragon writes him right back like, “I do not have Luffy with me. Is he okay, is he missing, did you lose my son?” And Garp replies, “LUFFY AND ACE ARE BOTH FINE. JUST DEVASTATED BECAUSE THEY THINK THEIR BROTHER SABO IS DEAD BECAUSE YOU KIDNAPPED HIM.” And Dragon is now sitting there like wtf, what does he mean Sabo is his grandson, who the fuck is Ace, wtf???

Cavendish reading the newspaper the morning before the tournament and absolutely seething over the story about Law & Luffy forming an alliance because the two of them are clearly the grumpy one and the sunshine one of the Worst Generation and now they’re using that to their advantage to gain even more popularity. They’re using his own favorite ship dynamic against him! This will not stand!!!

I’ve seen plenty of talk about how it’s hella gay of Law to insist he be left behind to watch the Luffy-Doflamingo fight so that if Luffy dies they can die together, but what about Cavendish Cabbage being like, very well, then I will stay here and guard you with my life. Honestly, Bellamy is just embarrassing himself. I would never blame him for being manipulated and taken advantage of by Doflamingo, but once he fully knows better and chooses to continue to fight for Doflamingo? And for what, loyalty, pride? Baby boy you do not owe any loyalty to someone who lied to & used you, and if you actually took pride in yourself and the things you did you would allow yourself to change once you realized you were wrong. This is all just coming from a place of shame and embarrassment and digging your heels in is just making it worse. Get well soon, bro

Oh, I stand corrected, it’s not just shame & embarrassment; it’s also the intricate rituals. Aka, Bellamy is gay for Luffy but has no way of expressing or even really understanding that desire for intimacy and closeness except through the language of violence and thus is attempting to goad Luffy into killing him as a weird expression of admiration. The reason Cora decided he urgently needed to kidnap Law away from Doffy was he found out Law was a member of the Clan of D, the natural enemy of the Celestial Dragons, which was a problem because Doffy had been born a Celestial Dragon. Which makes it absolutely wild that Cora was apparently able to get away with just never explaining that second part to Law. Like:

Cora: We need to get you away from Doffy because D’s are the enemies of the Celestial Dragons

Law: Why would he care about me being an enemy of the Celestial Dragons?

Cora: …Don’t worry about it

Crazy how we get this whole horrific story about the fall of Flevance, complete with a century-long cover up poisoning people for profit, a terminally ill little sister who gets burned alive inside the hospital and a fucking nun and class full of children’s dead bodies littering the street after they where gunned down by a soldier who promised to help them, and then we’re told, okay, so that’s the backstory to Law’s backstory. On to the main backstory where he starts to learn how to live again only to have that cruelly ripped away as well!

The funny thing about Doflamingo’s backstory is at first you’re rolling your eyes at the whole “poor little rich boy” of it all, but then you find out more about what he went through and are like, damn actually that is really messed up. But then you find out he’s just said “no one has ever suffered like I have” to a man who is the last known survivor of his country which was genocided twice over, and it’s like, you shouldn’t play trauma olympics anyway, but if you are going to play, don’t fucking play against Law. C’mon now.

So I guess I can believe that Law’s weakened state from the sea prism stone handcuffs means it’s easier/safer for him to ride lying down slung over Cavendish’s horse rather than trying to sit up and ride normally. But why do they have him doing a fucking backbend over the horse?? That cannot be safe or comfortable.

Doflamingo is trying to interrogate Law about what the Straw Hats are up to with the Tontatta and the underground port and Sugar and out loud Law is like, “Our alliance is over; I don’t have anything to do with them anymore” with the cadence of someone who is bluffing, while mentally he’s just, “Wtf, wtf, wtf???? I’ve been gone for like an hour, wtf.”

Sabo like, no, don’t wake Luffy up, I just wanted to see him again before I left; well maybe he wants to see you too, asshole! If Sabo really can’t stay, then fine, I guess I get it, but we could at least try to wake Luffy up and give him a chance to say goodbye. Not your finest moment, Sabo

AU where Law stays on Amazon Lily for a little while Luffy is healing and ends up listening to Luffy as he talks through some stuff, which inevitably brings up some discussion of Sabo’s (presumed) death. Not for shippy reasons (not just for shippy reasons), but because I think it would be hilarious to see the Straw Hats in Dressrosa’s reaction to learning that the two people who already knew about Luffy’s second secret brother were Robin and Law.
