I am very new to video clearly and would like to do more of it this year in my course. I wanted to add sound over this video but I don’t quite have the skill set yet so I am excited to learn.

The blurred photo shows what I consider to be the blurred reality of social media. We take our phones out to capture moments rather than being in the moment. The clear photo represents being in the her and now.

Here & Now : we spent a lot of our time on our phones and social media. I have discovered I look down at my screen posting the photo longer than I do actully observing and admiring the view with my own eyes. I decided to go for a walk (only with my camera as it is for a project after all) and just listen to the wind and trees.

Catherine Streets work at the modern art gallery. Collage isn’t my thing but I did really enjoy looking at these. They have sparked an idea I have for my summer project.

​more primary research for my FMP “Beauty in Decay”

This week I am starting my FMP and after collecting a few images over the years I have decided to make my final piece based on “Beauty in Decay.” I plan on recreating and adding to the natural textures you get within a decaying or poorly looked after building. Here a few of my primary and secondary research images that led me to focus on this theme for my final piece.

My finished 4 week sculpture rotation piece. My theme and research was based on the invisible connection between two people and making it visible. Here is a few photos of different stages of my sculpture. I based this specific connection on a toxic relationship and how love and hate become one. I decided to cut away at the two busts to show how an unhealthy relationship can chip away at you as a person. I also like the illusion of the busts almost floating and unbalanced as this could also show an insight to the relationship.

Modern Art Gallery visit Lucian Freud - Two Men I really loved this oil painting and the texture Freud created. His choice of colour is perfect in my opinion.
