How Loqi Tummelt is not as mediocre of a soldier as we thought

Look.

I know. I’m biased, you think, but listen. Listen, okie? LISTEN TO ME.

All this time we’ve considered Loqi to be a mediocre FFXV boss because he’s the first boss fight and it’s relatively easy. Plus, all the talk he does at the beginning makes it seem more pathetic when he loses. Then there’s the extra fight, and he’s all talk and bark and loses again. Then we have the Assassins festival, in which he loses yet again.

All of that has led us to see him as a fun, pathetic villain. But listen here. He’s actually much more capable and a very good soldier, we just don’t appreciate it.

I mean, even if his boss fight isn’t super challenging, we’re not putting it in perspective. We see it as “I” defeated Loqi…when it’s not you, an individual, but FIVE TRAINED MEN.

Even if it’s easy, the fight is pretty damn long. And it’s a couple MT soldiers, quick to wipe out; what makes it last is Loqi’s mech. And I mean, he’s one against five, and sure, he has a robot so that’s a plus, but it’s not only five random soldiers; it’s the goddamn PRINCE, trained into combat since he was a CHILD, the SHIELD OF THE PRINCE, who’s literally been raised to one day be the strongest soldier of all Eos, two royal bodyguards, one who can toss a dagger mid-air with his foot mid-flip and hit the target, and the one man that’s LITERALLY seen and known as the BEST warrior OF THE ENTIRE PLANET.

It’s THE Cor, THE Immortal, THE only one to survive an ancient trial, the man that can’t be defeated, THE strongest warrior of all Eos, with four other men, one of which was always trained to be the second best, and one that trained since kid, and two supports, AND YET THE BATTLE LASTS THAT LONG.

Indeed, the battle reaches a point where (real in-game dialogue) the characters think it’s so much that they need to run away; Cor orders Ignis to take the prince and take him to safety, asks them to leave this to him because that’s how urgent it feels, that’s how much they’re, in their reality, struggling to win.

Episode Aranea Timeline In-Game + Loqi Survives Proof

Not going to lie, I’m writing this just to prove that Loqi Tummelt survives in the game lol, but if you want to read this just so you know when Episode Aranea takes place and how it was always show in-game before any of the multiple updates and long before any DLC, hence how the developers always knew the story and perhaps also always intended to include it, you go ahead!

And also probably confirm that Episode Aranea MUST have occurred before Chapter 12. (I’ll put the rest under a read more, so I don’t clog up people’s dash if they don’t care about this lol ^w^)
