She had finally accepted? Good⌠Yes. Every single emotion that was exchanged back and forth between them felt pure and real. The void in his life that he had even forgotten about after long was opened again, but this time⌠It was getting filled with what he longed for. It was hard to know what to say and how to act, truly a first for the Fool here - in the most literal sense. Controlling his own tears, he spoke once more.
âThis⌠might sound odd. But no matter if someone else could have helped me, but IâŚâ He was blushing, seriously⌠It was like being an embarrassed kid, something he had never experienced either, âIâm just glad it was you, really, yes?â There it was, looking away as he finished the sentence, he was not paying attention when what happened next took place and surprised him.
âJ-JunkoâŚ?â He was worried something was wrong on the spot, âA-Are you alright? What is wrong?â That moment, it was as if he had healed out of the worry, his body responded again out of sheer emotion and was ready to move once more, whatever was the problem, he wanted to help her. With anything. Not because he owed her now or something only, of course not.
That was something similar between the two that hasn't been shared yet, atleast outwardly; the fact that they were filling a hole within each other's hearts. One longed to give away her motherly affections once more, and the other was finally getting the compassion he deserved so long ago. While the spirit would've never thought she'd get a second chance in any shape or form, even to this small of a degree, she was thankful to whatever god or circumstance that brought this young boy to her.
Listening to Yu trying to explain himself as flustered as he was at that moment was a little funny to watch, and she tried to subdue a chuckle by covering her mouth with one of her sleeves. "It isn't odd to me in the slightest, but life works in mysterious ways, and I guess we were just lucky." Oh how ironic it was though, that she also felt a similar manner to his; being thankful that they had their encounter rather than leaving it to someone else, though she didn't say that out loud.
"What's wrong?" She repeated in a questioning manner, looking at him for a moment before shaking her head, a small smile on her face. "I think I should be asking you that, young one... I simply wiped a stray tear from your face, no harm done." During that time she removed her hands from his face, though she left one rest on his shoulder as she spoke up once again. "It may not be my right to ask, but if there is something wrong, won't you please tell me? If it's something to cry over, then it would be better to let it out."
Itâs been 3 months...

A link⌠Yes. He could feel it as well, but⌠How was it possible? Him especially didnât think it was possible, he who knows just how bonds are formed and what strength they have, never had he experienced a connection just starting to be there with someone this fast, it caught him quite off guard, but⌠Yu didnât mind. He didnât mind this at all, something about this was something very nice and he was very welcoming of it. It was weird, he wanted his health to keep recovering a bit more slowly⌠The way they were right now it was so, so nice⌠Even if it felt like Junko could stare right through him in quite a way, he prefered not to voice that though.
âNo, I must definitely thank you, itâs just logical to do.â He insisted, his voice starting to sound clearly better, âEasily, should have been someone else than you, I think I would not have been as fortunate as I have been today.â
Silence reigning over for a few seconds, him further enjoying the atmosphere and all, after he concluded his response, he started to realize the more words they traded, her attentions and way of caring, this ⌠Slowly, his mind was suddenly acknowledging the foreign feeling, of course⌠That was it. He just stared at Junko so calmly, still hearing her explanation regarding their location just enough, it was⌠like a child staring at her mother. Yeah, that is what it wasâŚ
Without him catching it himself; not even feeling it happen, a single tear formed out of the corner of one of his eyes and began slowly rolling down so slowly. His heart acknowledged it as best as possible that very momentâŚÂ âIs this how it feels to have⌠a mother?â
âThank you⌠for everything, JunkoâŚâ Despite all of that, another sincere and heart-felt thanks. A warm smile on his face, he was almost ready to get back up, much to his dismay for once. Even if their meeting was to be cut short sometime soon, he wasnât sure how he was going to ask her⌠But he wanted to see her again. He wished for that to happen.
"Well if you're going to keep insisting, then I suppose I will happily take your gratitude." While it may have sounded like she was coming off as rude or dismissive of the other's feelings, that wasn't the case by any means. She definitely took his constant 'thank yous' to heart, but simply didn't feel like it had to be repeated so many times over for just one simple thing she did.Â
"I highly doubt you would've been that terribly out of luck if I hadn't come along. You're close enough to the Bamboo Forest, which inside lies the clinic Eientei, and I'm sure if one of the staff there came out they would've found you and took quick care of you."
Once the silence settled over between them she started to dwell back on her previous comment; while it was true that the members of the Eientei household would've given the boy quick and proper medical attention, there was a part of her that was more glad that she was the one who found him instead. It may have sounded selfish, but it only stemmed from another thing entirely. Right now there was a strong feeling, or more rather a deep connection, that she just couldn't keep ignoring any longer. For once after so, so long, she finally felt what it was like to be a mother again.
Hearing his voice pulled the spirit out of her current thoughts and she turned to face him, seeing the stray tear rolling down his face. With a soft sigh she reached out to wipe the tear away with her thumb before gently cupping his face with both hands. "There's no need to cry, sweet child, everything is okay now..." What went unspoken was the fact that if he started to cry, she wouldn't be too far behind. Junko's emotional walls were being tugged at, and it wouldn't be too long before her own dam broke, though whether by sadness or anger was still up to the circumstance.
đ Â BOW TO THE QUEEN Â đ

âMmâŚâ
âThatâs so cool! Wow, iâve never met myself!â
Cue the cutest fish meeting to ever occur.
âThanks for what you were saying earlier, I think people forget weâre, well, people, not food or some fish. I dunno why they think itâs okay to try an eat usâŚâ
âY-Yeah, I guess it is pretty neat.â While still a bit shocked from actually being able to meet a doppelganger and worried if it could cause some weird problems, she had to admit it was interesting to see another version of herself.
âO-Oh no, you donât have to thank me! I understand that everyone has to eat, but our kind has always been ruthlessly hunted down over these silly rumors of immortality, and I just donât want that to happen again...â
purificationin3gxps:
âAre you⌠me?â
âW-Woah, you actually showed up!â Color her both surprised and spooked, since sheâs never actually seen a double of herself before. âTo answer your question, y-yes, weâre both the same person... atleast in some way.â
a-howling-god:
He could feel it as she spoke, her words were truthful, how could he tell? The aura about her was just⌠surreal. She seemed serene and calm, her face and her attention it just⌠put him at ease. No one else he had met that had helped him out like this through all these years of his life ever caused him this kind of feelings. In all honesty, having her call him child truly made him feel like one at this very moment, he felt careless like one that rushed out to play and hurt himself. It definitely wasnât the fever but this whole scenario was like a weird dream, it was far from unpleasant, however, very far from unpleasant.
âI⌠thank you,â He gingerly spoke, mostly because he heeded her advice of resting up and letting his energy return as his temperature went down slowly but surely, this water was indeed working wonders like she said, so honest too of her, he was further dazzled on the spot by her. Helping a stranger like him too out of the blue, so very kind of her.
âSorry, I did not want to seem further imposing then I was⌠Junko.â He responded, âMy name is Yu, I canât⌠thank you enough for your help. I probably would have ended up badly out there if you werenât here so fortunately to aid me.â His voice was sounding more normal now too, thankfully. Allowing the peaceful silence to reign for a moment, he spoke again, âWhere am I?â He wondered at first, so many questions, but⌠he wanted to hear Junko talk more. Her voice as she was so caring was soothing and personally felt it helped more. Courtesy of that same feeling again.
Their mutual undefinable feeling was mutual, that was for sure. Just like her, he wished to know what was it that he was perceiving but couldnât tell so badlyâŚ
It had only been a very short time since the two crossed paths, and even though they really knew nothing about each other, the spirit felt like she had an immediate link to him somehow. She could pick up on his aura, probably easier than he could hers, and from it could tell that he was a calm and compassionate person, though there was also something else there... some kind of mysterious power that she's never come across in all her years. It was a bit concerning to think about, as someone so young shouldn't have to bear the weight of such responsibilities, but she wasn't going to bring up the topic at the moment; right now the only thing that needed to be focused on was his health.
"There's no need to thank me, young one, I only did what I thought was right." Just as she said moments earlier, she would never abandon a child in need, no matter the circumstance. After making his gratitude known it seemed the boy had quieted down, which helped her relax a bit after feeling so anxious when realizing he was sick; blame that on her motherly instincts. The whole moment right now felt like something she's experienced many times over in the past, where a sick child would listen to their mother with no complaint while getting cared for, basking in the warmth of extra affection in hopes of feeling better quicker. It was a bittersweet feeling to her, but she wasn't about to let her emotions take over at this moment... it would be disastrous for both of them.
"Yu... that's a nice name." She flashed him a small smile, though had to stifle a chuckle after hearing his next words. "Imposing? I highly doubt you'd come off to be that type of person. If anything, I should seem like the imposing one, given these old royal robes of mine..." For a moment her gaze was focused on the sky, almost in a reminiscing manner before she focused back on the young boy, and after letting out a small sigh she slowly lowered herself to sit beside him. "You're currently near a small river toward the west of the Bamboo Forest; if you had went too much further, you would've found yourself lost inside of it and would've been beyond help. Do not worry though, I know the area around here fairly well, so I promise I won't allow you to get lost."
Rumia silently pokes her other self's cheek. Why? Well why not?
The darkness youkai let out a small noise when she was poked, curiously looking over at⌠her doppelganger? She knew Gensokyo was a weird place, but this⌠this was just a bit too much for her taste.Despite that, she gently poked the otherâs cheek as well, just to see if they had a similar reaction. Until they said something, she was going to stay silent.
stagesgathering:
Rumiaâs all but mowing through the arm- she doesnât even attempt to take proper bites or to eat by any sort of manners, why would she ever judge herself for manners, after all? Though thereâs fair a bit of envy building up in the back of her mind at the sight of the larger leg going to her other self- it feels all too weird to be envious of herself over anything. Especially over something that she doesnât even need, per se.
Alternates are confusing, and the more that the darkness thinks on it the less that she likes the fact that other versions of herself exist- not that sheâs going to let herself know that of course. Chances are sheâs probably already thought of it anyways, right?
âMmmh~⌠Iâm not gonna tell anyone, promise-promise~! Buuuut~⌠I hope for our~ sake then that you donât get caught, ehehe~. âCuz last time I stole somethinâ from the humans the Red-White told me I was gonna get âthe bootâ- though I dunno what that means. She doesnât even have any boots to give, yâknow~?â Rumiaâs joking, she knows exactly what it means- but pretending not to know things is fun: Especially fun when youâre not sure how people will react to your lack of knowledge.
The darkness youkai takes a glance over to her counterpart, who is happily tearing the arm apart in her own manner, before focusing back on her own meal. While she had to admit she could easily, and quite messily, rip through this leg in a matter of seconds, or even swallow the thing whole if she felt up for it, she felt more inclined to be more âproperâ when it came to eating infront of other people; the blame for that falls on Mystia. After ripping off another sizable chunk to chew and swallow, she rummaged around through her meat stash again to pick up a couple more severed limbs before holding them out to the other. âIâm sure youâre more hungry than me, so pick what you want and eat up!â
âWell Iâm glad the secret is just between us, because as people say âyou are your own greatest ally and worst enemyâ.â She chuckled a bit at her usage of the phrase, which very well applied here, before her focus was pulled back to the rest of the otherâs comment. âI havenât been caught for quite some time now, and I donât think itâs going to happen anytime soon. Besides, the Reimu Iâm familiar with is a good friend to me, so I doubt sheâd punish me for simply taking a bit of scraps to munch on.â What she failed to mention in that was the fact that even though theyâre on friendly terms, the miko wouldnât hesitate to bap the little youkai with her gohei when she did something wrong, like during the time a short while ago when she thought it would be smart to play âbite and seekâ in the dead of night while her friend was unsuspecting.
ââGet the boot?â Now thatâs just too harsh, even for her. Us youkai have to eat just like the humans do, and as long as weâre not eating them, it shouldnât matter all that much if we take some of their food.â Rumia let out a small angry huff at that before deciding it would be better to not criticize her doubleâs version of Reimu too much, just incase they had a good relationship too. It wouldnât be wise to piss herself off, afterall.

âP-Please donât try to eat any mermaids... including me or my alternates...â Word has gotten around that people are trying to become immortal by munching on merflesh again, and sheâs very concerned about it.
"Minako-chan! Hi!" Yukari waved over at her. "I didn't know you'd be here!"
Hearing her name being called by a familiar voice, the brunette turned around to spot the other waving to her. âOh, hey Yukari-chan!â She replied cheerfully as she walked over to where her friend was, a smile on her face. âWell club finished up pretty early today, so I thought about coming down to play at the arcade for a while before heading back to the dorm. What about you though, just doing some shopping today?â
Minako. What are some of your hobbies?
âWell if âhanging out with friendsâ can be counted as a hobby, that would definitely be one of them! If you want some others, then going out to the arcade or relaxing at the manga cafe would be there too, as well as listening to music.â
Minako. Any favourite foods and drinks?
âWell itâs a bit hard to pick favorites, but... I guess one of my favorite foods is the Hagakure ramen bowls, though really I prefer sweets over anything else. As for drinks, I like a variety of teas and juices, though I donât mind a Pheromone Coffee from time-to-time.â
âIn all honesty, I canât really give you âdefiniteâ favorites, because thereâs really nothing that I donât like, eheh...â
