"Witches escape to the forest to listen to the whispers of nature itself." -Dacha Avelin
You can see why someone like Madge, who has never been at risk of needing a tessera, can set [Gale] off. The chance of her name being drawn is very slim compared to those of us who live in the Seam. (The Hunger GamesĀ p. 13)Ā

tigris changing her face to lean into her first name more than her last. tigris being a stylist for the games because snow wants her to be doing āmore than sewing sequined unitardsā at the club. tigris pushing back however she can. snow pushing away anyone who could possibly get close to him. snow quietly sending her away. āi wasnāt pretty enoughā. she doesnāt look like him anymore thereās no way to connect them. tigris aiding the rebels to take him down. shes completely catlike but more human than he. sheās the last of their name. she helped the rebels sheāll be spared any prosecution of former capitolites. snow lands on topā¦

tbh everytime I tried to answer this question I got a brainfreeze. so many things, so many thoughts.
I decided Iāll just focus on the first film, since it is my favourite, and it will always be my favourite no matter what. it got me into the fandom 11 years ago, after all. let me just appreciate the strong storyboard behind the first film. man, they knew exactly how to tell a visual story. the common theme, one color scheme for the entire movie, just perfect. I love the overall flow of the shots. it is like a choreography to me personally.
also brb crying about the first and the last on-screen interaction between the main characters
this piece with forwards/backwards dynamic lives in my head rent free:
The soundtrack in the scene where Katniss and other tributes appear on the Arena consists of three different soundtracks and they are so well put together in one sequence it feels like one seamless part. (they've used "Sediment" by Laurie Spiegel, "A wasp on her abdomen" by Chas Smith, and "Three movements for orchestra, mvt 1" by Steve Reich). I mean. This whole scene, the kids with different expressions on their faces, and the sounds of the countdown, and the design of the Cornucopia... this is such a neat piece. Also I really like the parallel editing which was used to show the reaction of different people from Capitol and Districts. And my endless respect goes to the whole editing and producing team who managed to actually show kids killing kids while staying in pg-13 rating.
tl dr: I love this movie to bits i can talk about it forever
