Cool bts camera shot of S5 filming
I get why people wanted them to kiss. I do. For us (the audience) itâs been a year since s4 going into s5 (+ all the 5yrs for those who have been rooting for them since the inception of the show) but in the show itâs been 24hrs, am I correct? Not sure but itâs not been that long since theyâve started to attempt defining their relationship to each other, it would have been nice to finally see that on screen and take that to the antiâs especially, rub it in their faces a little but it wouldnât have made sense for where both of the characters are currently. It just wouldnât have. Not yet, anyways. Not after that very charged conversation they had in Goodbye. I fully stand by this. I donât think we were robbed of a kiss per se. I think what we were robbed of was getting to fully explore their dynamic and the way they both act in each otherâs lives as people who can guide the other through their healing process bc they both have some serious emotional wounds that are in need of healing. I think this was what we were robbed of more so than a kiss. But then again, I knew going into the season that we werenât getting a kiss, I didnât even think weâd get a hug either. I thought itâd be a case of having lots of sweet moments but still keeping that touch barrier and everything so I was pleasantly surprised when we got the hug. I was actually shocked fr đ im not even exaggerating.
Ideally (to me anyways) I would have preferred that aspects of s3 & s4 got trimmed (the Faks screentime for sure, Claireâs as well) we still keep âNapkinsâđđž & âWormsâ but we have all the tension& dysfunction from s3 but maybe towards the upper half of s3 & then we have the review {the one @/the beginning of s4} and then the sydcarmy dynamic of s4 in s3 towards the latter half of s3 with Goodbye being the ending for s3 instead of s4. And then s4 would have been really showing and honing in on their building friendship, functional partnership, and again how they both serve as healing guides for the other and really giving both of those equal weight. By the time we get to s5, they would realize itâs the other person and always has been the other person all along. If that would have feel too contrived then they do this instead: kept s3 & s4 (for the most part) as they are and then the sydcarmy aspects of s5 would be honing in on building a friendship btwn them, showing and really emphasizing how they both act as healing guides for the other and all that. And then we have a s6 for the finale where they get together and itâs not open ended or anything like that. Either way though, I still say that for the one day service season we were working with, we got the sydcarmy finale that made the most sense for the structure of the story but also where both characters were at mentally.
the people's pizza princess
i love that they made syd x carmy jusssst canon enough to drive everybody fucking crazy
Today is Tomorrow. Tomorrow is a Breakthrough. Tomorrow is Thursday.
Carmy has been avoiding tomorrow. Syd was what he wanted to keep seeing tomorrow. Then Claire happened and he started avoiding it and everything and putting off tomorrow.
In Tomorrow we saw him promising Nat to call her when he gets there and he apologized to Richie for fighting with him and thought he was ready for tomorrow.
Tomorrow ended with Sydney falling in love with Carmy's food and Carmy doing everything he can to make her happy and get a star and let her carry his legacy and build his family tree with him.
Syd is not thinking about legacy, she just thinks about getting through Wednesday, which happens to be the day after we left off after the fight, so tomorrow. Carmy avoids thinking about legacy aka Syd aka tomorrow all together.
The restaurant has been struggling to get to tomorrow. Always falling one day short.
But tomorrows can bring big break throughs. The only problem is those breakthroughs require support and money in order to be researched.
Carmy's been saving wishes for tomorrow. But he's stuck in groundhogs day. Marcus got out of the loop by working at the restaurant. Carmy thinks that's what he's been doing, but he has not been fully present.
Richie tells Carmy that today is tomorrow. There is no avoiding it because it has already happened.
Carmy is stuck on Wednesday loop but the breakthrough has already begun and he will break out of the cycle and reach tomorrow and reach Sydney which he has been avoiding and putting off since he went off with Claire.
They will go back to their roots and to The Original Beef of Chicagoland, and go back to each other and build their legacy and family tree together, as partners. And tomorrow, on Thursday we will see family and the bears come together again.
the way Carmy asks Syd to come to the Ever funeral. the way he insists, as if itâs such a good opportunity for her. brother is still actively spiralling about the breakup with Claire and yet he canât convince himself to do a single fucking thing without Sydney. he wants her there for everything. what the fuck, man. Iâm normal Iâm normal Iâm normalllll
Was the âUmmâŚâ because Pete didnât know how much he should say to Donna or the genuine confusion surrounding their relationship? I like to think itâs both.â¤ď¸
i was rewatching some episodes of The Bear before seeing the final season, and i just want to say what i felt very strongly the first time too: Jeremy Allen White deserved all the acting awards just for that scene in 4x09 alone when he was listening to Donna's confession. it honestly makes such strong impression on me every time i see that scene. the way Carmy tries so hard to keep his composure, responding to Donna with the smallest of voices, visibly trembling by the end. i do understand very well how hard it must have been for him to listen to all that, even if it's something that he desperately needed to hear for so long. it was truly such a raw and brilliant performance by Jeremy
Nothing hurts more than having a ship of a black character (or nonwhite but this often happens with black characters) with a popular white character and you know theyâd be a great pair but most fans are too racist and the show writers ignore it and you just feel gaslit
Love that she says "Did we get a star?"
& he says "You got two".
Jeremy Allen White allume la cigarette de Charli XCX Ă lâafter-party Saint Laurent Ă Paris, en prĂŠsence de Madonna
Just binged the entire season 5 if BEAR.
This is HOW YOU DO SERIES FINale! THATS HOW YOU END IT. MY FUCKING GOD. That was honestly the GREATEST END
Body language and expression analysis in Sydcarmy phone call
This is just a small clip of the scene itself, but this was when their vocal, facial, and body language and reactions were most telling to me in my opinion. I had to make this.
- they both (mostly Syd) start off really dismissive and not open to vulnerability
- it take says hearing that carm is thinking about HER after she put cl*ires name out there to have let her feel safe enough to be honest in that she loves appreciates him.
- but their FACES y'all it reads CRAZY they are really holding themselves back here. So much is they are WANTING to be said, but they both feel like nothing more is needed to be said in this particular moment.
In short, they both want that cookie real bad
wasnât expecting the last season of the bear to be a syd top carmy bottom situation but Iâm not complaining
ok guys not to be negative but.
some of u have got to be watching the bear with your eyes closed?? i think a lot of sydcarmy lovers go so hard for the ship that it starts to sound stupid a bit - and this is coming from someone who LOVES sydcarmy.
Even if The Bear lost a little momentum, itâs still extremely well-written. Yeah there are some episodes that seem too slow and stagnant but I think itâs balanced really well with super intense moments!
That said, yes I really LOVE sydcarmy but the show isnât just about them! There are so many different sides of the show and i think getting frustrated at the no canon sydcarmy and then shitting on the entire show and christopher storer because of it is just plain stupid?? this show has been nominated for emmys EVERY SEASON FOR A REASON!!
Like i think itâs definitely ok to not love every plot point bcuz i definitely donât, but u canât say that chris storer sucks at writing just because sydcarmy donât kiss in the show đ like be fr
