Also republicans hate government. They donāt want the government to be doing things. Mitch McConnell will not bring bills to the floor. Thatās what he did last time. He physically hoarded them in his office.
I wouldnāt be surprised if we get a government shutdown or two in the next couple of years. The margins are close enough that the democrats will be able to raise a stink about the budget. That could cause some problems. It seems like the republicans hold everything but not by an insane amount. Predict a lot of gridlock coming up. Even less happening than usual and the things that do happen either being not very fun or purely utilitarian required to keep stuff going level stuff
Also I will say that if your local congressperson is a Republican, still write them letters about bills you care about and tell your family and friends to do so as well. Especially if theyāre a moderate. Especially if itās an issue relevant to people in your region.
Donāt tell them in your letters or calls that youāre not a Republican. Donāt tell them what your party affiliation is. Emphasize how much you love your region and your country and gosh darn it would be so important to me if this or that didnāt happen sir. Similar rules apply if you get the opportunity to meet them in person. No matter what youāre an everyday person totally relatable to a conservative and gosh darn sir youāre just so concerned about what itāll do to this great city of ours so what are you planning to do about it
And again, get all your family and friends to do the same if you can.
I want to say in response to a certain kind of sentiment that no Iām not asking you to āappeal to the morality of your oppressorsā. Iām saying pretend to be one of them for just long enough that theyāll listen to you. Bring up something theyāll like. If youāre a person of faith, maybe bring that up. They donāt need to know which faith. If you have a traditionally blue collar job, bring that up. If you have kids, bring that up. If youāre a law student, bring that up. If you were born and raised in your district, if you or your family own a business, if you hunt for your food, if itās relevant and a conservative would trust you more if you brought it up, bring it up. They donāt need to know youāre queer, they donāt need to know your race, they donāt need to know your political party. You can however heavily imply that you might be the sort of person who would vote for them and wouldnāt it be a shame if they pissed that kind of person off

Some additional information on fluoride, to answer the questions in the comments: as everything in this list, this is a safety measure for potential situations that could arise. I obviously can not predict the future. With that in mind:

Good additions! But obligatory addition on my part to that first point: breaking up or filing for divorce can be dangerous, especially in an unhealthy or abusive relationship.
So, if thatās your situation: Reach out for support. Let trusted friends, family, or a support group know about your situation. And plan your exit carefully, even if time is of essence. Choose a safe time and place to leave, ideally when the other person isn't around. Plan how you'll get out and where you'll go. Collect IDs, bank info, and any essentials beforehand so you're prepared to leave without having to go back. Also, create a safety plan. Know your options in case things escalate, like where to hide or who to call. Have emergency contacts ready and consider storing a āgo-bagā in a safe place. After leaving, consider limiting what you share publicly and possibly changing passwords. This can prevent tracking or unwanted contact.
If youāre trans, get things like surgery and name changes going PRONTO. Especially if you have already started hormone therapy or have had any other surgeries previously. Make sure you get your birth certificate changed.
You may be able to petition the judge hearing your name change request to waive having to report your name in newspapers.

Additionally, some states have "trans sanctuary" executive orders signifying safety for trans folks seeking healthcare. These states are:

Living as a resident in these states means you are protected by state's rights and state government to continue or begin receiving trans healthcare. These laws have been codified in their states so everything has been a-ok'd by their state governments.

Just to be clear, Kamala conceded with grace and dignity but it is still well within everyoneās right to demand an investigation and even a recount with due cause despite a winner being declared. U.S.Americans have the right to demand free and fair elections (we donāt have a right to, say, start an insurrection like certain people did after the 2020 election).
Many, including major swing states, (Nevada, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and more) have already admitted to data and ballots not being recognized or lost and are recounting or calling for a recount. It usually takes days to count and record votes, a day after a bunch of election tampering is not enough.

20+ million votes are still unaccounted for, and thatās just to have the same voter turnout as 2020.
There was record voter turnout and new/first-time voter registration this year. We definitely should be well over the turnout in 2020.
U.S. citizens are using this site to demand, not only a recount, but a complete investigation into election fraud and interference for the reasons stated above:

Here is what I submitted as an example:
An investigation for election interference and fraud is required. We desperately need a recount or even a revote. The American people deserve the right to a free and fair election. There has been evidence unveiled of Trump cheating and committing election fraud which is illegal. There is some evidence of possible Russian interference. At least 30+ bomb threats were called in to polling places. Multiple, notably swing states, have ballots unaccounted for and voting machines not registering votes. Ballots and ballot boxes were tampered with and burned. Over 20 million votes that we know of are unaccounted for. With record turnout and new voter registration this year, there should be no possibility that there are less votes than even in the 2020 election.

This is too coincidental that these things happen and swing in his favor after months of hinting at foul play.

The last image is a screenshot of the official statement from the Centre County, Pennsylvania Board of Commissioners released on November 6, 2024 that states:

(Bellefonte, PA) -Centre County Elections Office is working continuously to provide mail-in ballot data in order to post unofficial results.
To this point, all ballots have been scanned, including all mail-in ballots.
Centre County's Election team and IT team have identified that the data are successfully being exported from the mail-in ballot scanners, but that the data is not being recognized when uploaded to the elections software.
Centre County's Administrator, John Franek, Jr. stated, "We have not stopped working, and we will continue to work until unofficial results are posted and reported to the Pennsylvania Department of State."
As a next step, Centre County has begun working with the equipment vendor to adjust configurations to make the two systems-the mail-in ballot scanner and the elections software where data are uploaded -compatible with one another.
On twitter Iām seeing dozens of threads from Black activists warning people against burnout, giving all sorts of useful tips about preventing and managing it for the sake of a long-term, sustainable effort.
On tumblr Iām seeing a hell of a lot of young white kids yelling at anyone who actually follows those steps, and acting like burnout is a moral falling rather than a well-proven psychological phenomenon.
Be careful who you get your information from. Donāt let guilt lead you to make choices that will harm both you and the movement.

Okay real shit, I know this isnāt my usual content, I donāt care. I need yāall, ESPECIALLY queer, disabled, BIPOC, and/or anyone born a female to genuinely lock in NOW.
Below is a petition that calls for a recount and revote for the 2024 U.S. election. Trump has been suspected of cheating and rigging the election, there have been ballot boxes BURNED, there are people out there whoās votes have NOT been counted.
