A "corrupted" version of Trahearne reprimanding an insubordinate "Lieutenant Malyck."

Practice I am highly dissatisfied with - chucking it into this side-tumblr lest it rot among the cobwebs of my other drawings of displeasure.

Coupled with the fact Trahearne's tongue was not visible in the initial drawing - I tried it toward the end only to amuse myself, not intending to keep it - but the drawing really does not look right without it. This probably sounds like an excuse, as if I'm attempting to deny setting out to draw Trahearne in such a manner. But it's truly the truth. Truly!

Really, if anything, you should blame the Firstborn for not looking proper any other way. Ha!

For all these reasons, I think this is the appropriate place for this drawing. ;p

I had the dubious urge to practice line drawing, which was (as it tends to be for me) a horrible mistake. You can clearly see the parts I lost patience with and just started painting over, hahaha...ha.

Anyway. The idea for this one is it is right after the fleet of Pact ships, lead by Trahearne, is disabled by Mordremoth's vines. I always enjoyed the idea of a Mordremoth-corrupted Malyck, under the Jungle Dragon's orders, being the one who finds him among the rubble. Our poor Firstborn is alone and disoriented (or maybe Malyck/other Mordrem have picked off any nearby survivors).

Malyck, pulling an injured Trahearne from the battered remains of his ship, tells him with vicious delight how his beloved Pact is vanquished. Not only that, but any survivors have surely abandoned him, after his foolish order to fire into the forests of Mordremoth's domain.

"Your Pact is gone, Marshal. You led them right into the Heart of Maguuma."

Malyck triumphantly presents Trahearne to Mordremoth - certain the Firstborn will soon turn and join them, given his weakened mental state due to his failure to protect the Pact.

I don’t know if it’s canon or not, but I always imagine that sylvari bioluminscence glows most brightly when experiencing intense emotion or physical sensation - whether it’s one of intense pleasure, pain, or mental anguish.

Once in a while, for fun I’ll try out coloring without refining the sketch like I normally do, and 90% of the time I quickly realize this is a terrible mistake. The late hours frequently cause me to make questionable decisions.
