so truth be it i love you all and love you for sticking with me through my writing, but i dont know how active i’m gonna be. i started college, so far it’s going okay, but i’m not sure how well i can balance everything yet and my mental health has gotten far worse. i may be back sooner than later, it may take a while. i’m not sure yet, and i’m sorry.

Recently my work schedule has been pretty unreliable and my car was in desperate need of tires and an inspection so I’m left in a pretty unfortunate financial situation. My car is in need of more repair and I can’t see my doctor to get back on my HRT until that’s done so I’m willing to sell just about any and all of my figures.

It’s actually because he simply exists and therefore takes up space and oxygen. Poor Haise, this really is one-sided. To Kayeton he’s just like a bad penny.
⌠☾⌡ It really doesn’t matter to Haise that their affections are one-sided. They just want to do anything they can to make Kayeton comfortable and happy ( too bad he can’t seem to understand that it may be him leaving them alone ).

The sign on the outside of the wooden door was turned over on “Closed”, showing that Touka had or was cleaning up inside. The windows nearby the door appeared freshly cleaned.
Touka tilted her head up and to the side when she heard the investigator’s tapping on the door. She called out that it was unlocked and that he could come in, then returning to the pot below her, pouring the two cups of coffee she’d promised when they last spoke. Touka left the small space behind the counter holding a small plate with their cups.
She set it down on a table, tilting her head toward the open door and the person standing just inside.
⌠☾⌡ After Haise had left earlier that day, he’d spent most of his time pondering what the other needed to talk about. Especially since he only wanted to ask her if there was a reason why she seemed so familiar to him. That being said, most people could clear it up with a simple, “I’m sorry, you must have the wrong person.” It had left him wondering -- ‘What if I’m onto something this time. Could I have been right? Could she have a link to my past?’ That being said...
...He wasn’t really sure he wanted to know.
Waiting for just a moment, he shuffled into the room ( after he’d heard the other say the door was open ) and walked over to the table. “Good evening! I really hope I’m not being a bother, I’m sure you’ve had a long day at work...”
“Ahh, even so…” Tem murmured, popping a small bit of her own portion into her mouth every so often, eating it slower now. It was no secret that Sasaki enjoyed cooking (and doting on his subordinates) but even as she was now she didn’t want to take advantage of his labor. “You’re too good to us! You should try being selfish every once in a while.”
⌠☾⌡ “No no! Really, I wouldn’t know what to do with any extra time, I mean it!”
If anyone knew Haise, they’d know he was a bit of a workaholic. Probably a trait he’d picked up from his mother Akira somewhere along the line. Always doing something with his hands, or filling the space, not a moment of his day was left with many openings. If he wasn’t doing his own work or reading a bit, then he was trying to help people around the office with their own, or doing things around the house. “I couldn’t...”

not to be mean, but juuzou could only snort out a laugh, not even bothering to muffle it at haise’s explanation. though understandable as hands are stuffed into his pockets, its a fairly uneventful day save for meetings concerning future operations, even if most are between only two squads and aren’t fairly big operations to begin with. ‘ i don’t have anything right now, why not i accompany you? you can treat me to some candy too, i know a nice place near the shoe store. ‘
⌠☾⌡ Well, by now, Haise was more than embarrassed. A cherry color dusted across his cheeks as he looked down at the ground. “A-Ah...” If only there was something he could do about them right now maybe it would help his embarrassment. “That would be alright... I suppose it’s okay. Besides, I didn’t have as many snacks for you as I normally do earlier so I can make up for it now, okay?”

“Ka-… Haise, can we talk after I close? I have to talk with you as well. I’ll be here after hours with coffee ready,” she offered with a smile with a tinge of hurt mixed into the expression. Spottable by the queer position of her left eyebrow. Touka stood, gave a polite bow and began to turn away to get back to the counter.
⌠☾⌡ Ka? Haise blinked a few times at the unfinished word, wondering himself what she could have been about to say. Now he was more curious than previously, but instead he’d silently return to staring at his coffee. She needed to talk to? Huh... That could mean... any sort of things. “I’ll be here, thank you very much. I’m sorry...” With that he turned back to his coffee, finishing it off before taking his leave.

Later, he again found himself before the door to the small coffee shop. Not wanting to intrude, he raised a hand, leaving a gentle rap on the door. Anxiety consumed his entire being and he wasn’t sure what to do. He wasn’t even sure what he was going to say or ask. Hopefully, he wouldn’t regret this...

⌠☾⌡ “No no no! That’s not what I was saying at all, but I mean, uh.” Well, then again, if it kept other people from getting hurt... maybe it was a good idea? It took a lot for anyone to get Haise 100% down and out. Especially from a normal (?) person. Perhaps xe would regret this later but... “Sure, I guess if you wanted to...”
Yes, he is. He’s insufferable and probably the reason why Kayeton is going to have grey hairs in his twenties.
⌠☾⌡Is it because he cares? Is it because he generally wants Kayeton to be happy and safe? We may never know, but what we do know is that he’s not leaving him alone regardless.

Tem freezes, hand still hovering in the air and her weight braced on the other arm.
“…fine.” She leans back and plops back into her chair. “No, no, you don’t have to go through the trouble of making something else!” There were plenty of things in the kitchen that she could throw together herself or that required no prep at all; and in any case, it wasn’t likely their superiors would be pleased if she overate and cramped up during training or something.
⌠☾⌡ “Are you sure?” It was mainly a stress relief for him. On many occasions, he’d baked up several batches of cookies, or made one cake too many. No longer was it an odd thing for him to take extras of anything to work and leave them in some of the lounges, free for anyone to take. “You know I love cooking, making something else for you wouldn’t be a problem at all.”

Touka seemed to flinch a little bit whenever his first outburst came out before she looked back up to him and listened to his words. She furrowed her brows in reminiscence whenever he said she was familiar to him. With a deep breath, she nodded and pulled out a chair from under the table, sitting at it. Touka folded her hands and tilted her head, listening.
⌠☾⌡ Well... he almost hadn’t expected her to sit down. And now that she had, he had no idea what to say. Where had the outburst even come from? Haise didn’t normally have that kind of courage and he rarely spoke to anyone like that. “Ah... I’m really sorry. That was... very rude.” A pause as he tried to formulate what he was going to say next. “I guess... I just keep thinking that you look so very familiar. Like I’ve seen your face before. Your voice, the way you walk, your attitude, and your smile. It’s like looking at someone I’d known in a past life. But I can’t say... one way or another. It’s not just because I visit this place so frequently it’s something else.”
Silence slowly drifted over the boy as he stared into his coffee. “If... If you know something. Anything. I know... I know nothing about my past and about who I was... Maybe this is... Ah... No I’m afraid I’ve 𝓼𝓪𝓲𝓭 𝓽𝓸𝓸 𝓶𝓾𝓬𝓱. You’ll have to excuse my rudeness.”
