Resource alert: Kanji.sh worksheets are a bit messed up 😓
To give some context to my problem: I had already started SRS for N2 and N3 kanji on Renshuu a while back, and only started writing the kanji for practice after I got close to being halfway 'done' in terms of memorizing the readings and meanings, mainly because a lot of similar looking kanji were starting to trip me up at this point. (I had also started on the N1 kanji schedule on Renshuu by this point)
I was using the worksheets at Kanji.sh to do Kanji writing practice since each page has 5 kanji and it makes for better division of work and setting of goals. 73 pages in the N3 worksheet? 1 page per day would mean 73 days to finish writing all N3 kanji once! 148 pages in the N2 worksheet? Since I was doing 2 pages per day, it would take 74 days to finish it once! (I go back and write each kanji every 5, 10, 15, 20 days and so on btw)
I'd been writing both N2 and N3 kanji everyday, and I was noticing that there were some common ones that were appearing on both lists. I figure, eh, maybe a few is still not an issue. By the time I reached 400 Kanji on the N2 Kanji list, my brain finally kicked in and I went back to Renshuu to see how many kanji were there on the N2 list (which I recall from studying the kanji on Renshuu there was somewhere in the 300s). And this is where I realized I messed up. I should've checked the number on the worksheets before embarking on my writing practice.
I went and copied down all kanji from the kanji.sh website into a spreadsheet, compared stuff, and came to the conclusion that most of their N3 kanji are appearing in the N2 worksheet! (WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT UGH) Which means I was practicing some kanji twice.
Some quick stats:
Kanji in the N2 worksheet: 739
Kanji in the N3 worksheet: 361
Kanji in the N2 worksheet common to the N3 worksheet: 324
Unique/New kanji in the N2 worksheet: 415
Kanji in the N3 worksheet that don't again appear in the N2 worksheet: 37
Number of kanji at each level according to Renshuu:
N3: 360
N2: 359
Combined: 719
Still doesn't add up to the worksheet number of 739 ugh and I don't have the will to go compare the worksheet list with the Renshuu list. I anyway plan/hope/try to learn all the way upto N1 kanji by the end of this year so in the grand scheme of things, it shouldn't matter what list I learned them from, and what order I am writing them in.
A bit of facepalming ensued, and I have decided to go back to my lists posts and label them according, since this has become such a mess I don't want to re-do the Tumblr posts entirely. All N2 kanji posts will now be Tumblr-tagged and labelled as both N3 and N2 kanji. I'll delete the N3 kanji posts I made so far, and have the unique 37 kanji from N3 have new posts as and when I come across them.
Just to check, I went ahead and copied the N1 worksheet's list and did the same comparisons. Guess what? Some N3 and N2 kanji appear in the N1 list. WHY WHY WHY WHO MADE THIS LIST

I guess I can make it work. I'll just skip writing those common ones when I start doing the N1 worksheet ughhhhhhhhh
P.S. if you're wondering, no, the N5 and N4 worksheet kanji don't appear again.
Conclusion: do a bit more planning/research and don't trust resources blindly. At least cross-check with other resources, especially if you are doing self-study.
