Can you just imagine all the wild rumors that get spread about Rook?

"Yeah? Well I heard she went head to head with John Seed, knocked out one of his teeth, and wears it on a necklace now."

"Hurk told me that someone he knew said they saw her hunted down by a pack of Judges and she came out as Alpha of them and now they'll do whatever she says."

Honestly, the legend of the Deputy is more terrifying than the woman herself. She becomes a figure head of the resistance and that's why Joseph doesn't want her dead. Because he's smart. Because he knows killing her would turn her into a huge martyr for the movement.

But if he managed to convert her, it would be a massive blow.

Ruth has so much body hair. On her legs, armpits, crotch, even a dark happy trail that goes from the crux of her ribs down below her waistband. And since she went on the run in Hope County the only shaving she really does is her mustache and the hair between her thick brows to keep them separate. And occasionally the hairs that pop up on her chin.

Before this, she would usually be more vigilant about her happy trail and pits, but she ain't got time for it now.

And I need to write a drabble about Ruth confronting Whitehorse about all of this. Cause he knew about all this bullshit. He knew and he said nothing. Not when her dad went missing and not when her brother suddenly had no motivation to keep pursuing it with the local police.

#ooc #what I'm hinting at is that John still has real strong ties to the lawyer community #or did at the time #and managed to get a word down to Kacey's boss's boss

And Ruth is also one of those deputies who only kills people when she is absolutely forced to and has no other choice. Despite what the game will make you do, she relies mostly on stealth and knocks out most of the cultists she comes across and actually drags the Angels with her for a pretty forceful sobering up in a cave.

But due to how she looks and the blunt, straight forward way of her doing everything, she has gained a reputation for being violent and blood thirsty. It's definitely part propoganda and part her delight in blowing up shrines and monuments to the Seeds. But she was trained to save people. She is someone at the core of her being helps people, so yes, she will, can, and has killed people while in Hope County, but it's much less than you think.

While with Sharky, Ruth was struck by lightning cause they were dumb and making a trek while it was storming hell outside. Whitehorse had her in the makeshift infirmary, constantly being dipped into ice baths to make her temp go down. She still has scars from it going down her back and arms.
