It is. Dehydration elevates heart rate, hence insomnia, and salt absorbs water so if the body's not absorbing all the salt, the water gets trapped and unusable. I literally had to get up from bed twice to drink a glass of water before I could sleep.

I'm certain I earned the bee's trust doing that. First time I noticed her, I almost touched her accidentally while trying to adjust the cushion. She did the leg up threat display then but by the time I came back to move her, she let my hand come within centimeters of her to move the water tray.

Fun fact: Pigeons used to be domesticated. It's why they have multiple color morphs and bad nesting instincts.

humans domesticated them and then dumped them and forced them to learn how to survive in wilderness they weren’t built for.

i think i understand you perfectly, and i don’t think your a pigeon at all.

i think your a robin, with amazing instincts, and the ability to adapt to any situation, and the ability to be bold yet kind when needed.

I think I may have successfully saved a bumblebee earlier today. Poor thing was lethargically sitting around on our deck furniture so I gave her sugar water and came back later to coax her onto a plant, since her feet seemed to be getting stuck on the cushion fabric. She's gone now so I presume she felt well enough to fly after that.

that’s awesome!! i love when people help out wildlife when they can, bees are super important to every ecosystem!
