&&. announcing her royal highness, ( nike lykke glĂŒcksburg ), the ( 26 ) year old ( crown princess ) of ( greece ). she is often confused with ( olivia culpo ). some say that she is ( prejudiced & prideful ), but she is actually ( level-headed & loyal ).
itâs not nai-key, itâs knee-khe. she will correct you if you donât pronounce it right. nike (TM) ruined her life.
nike has never been easy to handle. her parents, her tutors, her nannies, they all struggled from time to time. christos and ann-charlotta glĂŒcksburg had themselves to blame for it though and the people they employed most definitely pointed a finger at the couple. christos liked being a father when it was convenient, he was terrible at being strict and often failed to understand the logic of children â or rather, the lack of logic. ann-charlotta on the other hand was too progressive for her own good and tried the latest parenting tips and tricks that definitely did not work. little princess nike was a menace.
what did keep her in check was her role in the family. the family business was everything and she wanted to excel at being a princess. when she was in front of the cameras she tried to be the most intelligent version of herself. it was all a competition she had with herself. she also looked up to her older sister maia ( #rip ) who sort of did her best to keep nike in check. maia and io, the older sisters, were closer to parental figures that their actual parents. at least for nike. maia and io got a slightly different upbringing since they were good ten years older and the future stars of the show. maia especially, as the future queen of greece, spent more time with their father.
her sense of duty did not wash out the worst parts of her. the short fuse, the disobedience, and an inability to take accountability. she sealed her fate when she made her private english teacher snap and quit her job. that was when her parents decided her personality needed a fix. nike was not going to mature in athens.Â
they sent her to copenhagen where she stayed with her uncle frederik and cousins. copenhagen because 1) her uncle didnât mind having her there, 2) her uncleâs wife most certainly knew how to handle her ( much better than ann-charlotta ), and 3) ann-charlotta wanted her to become fluent in danish.Â
against all odds, nike actually enjoyed her life in copenhagen. so much that after she had finished her studies at a danish gymnasium, she applied to the university of copenhagen. she returned to greece after getting her bachelourâs degree and started working on her masterâs at the university of athens.
she had just gotten her masterâs when she got engaged to viveka and figured sheâd make it work... the engagement ended up falling apart. nike struggled for a while with the humiliation and the sense of failure that had come with it.Â
her relationship with her parents was quite shallow: she was angry at them for a very long time. the anger died with time and as she matured she understood their point of view â understanding it didnât take away the feeling of abandonment though. unfortunately they passed away ( cause of death: idk, iâll figure it later if it matters ) before she really had the opportunity to come to terms with everything.
nikeâs personality is really something. itâs a difficult personality for starters. a fact. she is one of those people who are hot and cold, sometimes sheâs as affectionate as it gets and sometimes sheâs hard as rock even to those she cares about. she tends to appear confident: sheâs very comfortable in her skin, and can easily argue to no end. she trusts her abilities. things that she can work on and measure in some way bring her confidence.
but she does not believe in her personality. if she wants to befriend someone, she thinks has to act. she has to behave in a way thatâs not 100% natural to her. she rather fakes her personality and gets rejected than acts like herself and gets rejected --- the latter would mean that she really is the problem. what would she do then ? she recognizes the many flaws she has but has a hard time working on them, she pretty much self-sabotages constantly. nike sometimes goes âwow, i really shouldnât be so meanâ but when sheâs in a social situation where she doesnât give a shit about the people, she letâs her words flow freely. no filter. if someone gets on her nerves she will be mean and she wonât feel bad about it â what she will feel bad about is that she quite enjoys the destructive power her words sometimes have. itâs very difficult to have a conscience and never listening to it when it matters.
nike is as loyal as it gets though, if someone earns her trust and respect, sheâll go to hell and back for them. she likes feeling needed: itâs one form of acceptance.Â
she doesnât have anything against andrĂ©s perse but... she definitely doesnât think he has a place at the greek court. heâs a fucking himbo for godâs sake ! nike never saw what maia saw in him. other than the nice face and body but letâs be real when he opens his mouth, nike would rather listen to a scratched record on repeat. she adored leda though. nike and io are determined to kick andrĂ©s off the throne and replace him with io who actually bears the name glĂŒcksburg. leda can ascend the throne when sheâs not pooping into a diaper.
