I’m happy to announce that I have a lab position in the Biomolecular Engineering Department at UCSC!
I’ll be working on advancing the sequencing of antibodies, which could lead to a better understanding of the adaptive immune system and reveal more efficient and accurate biomolecular techniques regarding them.

if I knew an easier way to exist, I would choose that. people say ‘this is making you stronger’ like I wanted another reason to stay awake at night. like I wanted another ruler to measure my survival by. someone who loves me asks what’s wrong and if I were braver, I would say this: I am scared you will leave if I tell you how much hurt I’m carrying- there are softer people to love. It’s time to swim again.
I’m happy for my friends, it seems like they’ve been finding their resolutions. That’s been pleasant to see.
This body is tired, but the kind that results from determination and progress. There are days that, I feel in sync with where I want to be, where I look forward to what other days will bring. It’s a happy feeling.
The idea of summer still scares me, but I won’t let myself be a coward. My friends will be far, but I can pretend to be a traveler, and I might even be working in a lab.
