I don’t know, but it has to do with the birthmarks and you know that. She remembered the time she showed hers off to him. How he didn’t have the same one as her apparently. Pulling up the end of her jeans, she displayed her mark in clear daylight. This! This is important….at least that was what me and Reid thought. 

Why did she always become so irrational when Birdie was around him. Niko made her want to run off the island, to escape the bubbling emotions in her heart. Some things would never change. She was still flighty, still a basketcase with her tech lying all around her. 

You don’t have to worry about me. I’m not your problem anymore.

You mean more people than just Archer, Madison, you, and me have them?

His question ddn't register too much, it only carried slight curiosity from the new information. He heard everything Evelyn was saying but he couldn't quite focus because everything in him was centered on her, it was as if her very being has a gravitational force of its own. 

You left and made that decision without asking if that's what I wanted. If you didn't want to be together, all you had to do was say so, not run away.

I don’t know exactly what to think. I wasn’t here and I don’t know the circumstances. Yeah, okay, Reid would most likely die from an overdose, but that guy was…invincible. He had it under control or at least I thought he did. 

She bowed her head, feeling ridiculous all of a sudden from her so called theory. 

What if the police are in on it? What if the adults of this town are in on it like Mister Preston? You know, I…I don’t know why I’m telling you this. I just wanted to tell you why I didn’t tell you what I was doing so, yeah. Forget everything I said, it was pointless.

Drug addicts don't have it under control. How do you think I keep up the cash flow?

It's not pointless, but it doesn't make sense. Things are missing, like what would they be hiding and why would it be important enough to kill people over it? Something's off here, but it's not worth getting into if people end up like Miss Preston because of it.

But he was Reid Castello. That dude was never going out by drugs, you know him better than anyone! He didn’t die that way, I know it!

She took a step back, surprised at how adamant she became to prove something she should’ve let go. Reid was dead and nothing was going to bring him back even if she delved into his information. Birdie could hear Archer berating her on how she continued to bring up the information, but how could she not. It was all she did before she left and now nothing. 

Believe what you want, Niko. But even you have to admit that it’s too easy, too simple to slap a drug overdose and call it case solved.

No, everyone knew if he was the party king, he wasn't going to live a long life at the top of some corporation, he was going to go out young and enjoying life as best as he could. Do you really think Mister Preston would fake an autopsy report? 

And even if someone killed him, if some nurse or Shadows or whoever did something to make his heart stop beating, then maybe you shouldn't look into whatever he had you search. Be smart about it, you're not the police.
