Come Back Soon → Selfpara (Ft. Jace)
The dark green button was pressed inward, silencing the sound of the heartbeat. The green lines kept on going up and down at normal rate. But still there laid the male looking almost peacefully asleep in the bed. His olive lids sheltered his blue’ish grey eyes. The room was empty rather than a set of two red chairs near the bed. The room itself was lifeless, and it just felt dull. The bright blue eyes looked upon his friend and a wave of helplessness washed over him. He couldn't do anything to help his friend, he was absolutely useless.
A salty metallic taste began to fill his mouth. Move Nik. He urged himself forward and sat in the apple red chair by the top of his bed. He rested his head on his own hand and his arm on his friend's bed. He swallowed something hard, there was something about this that was just so wrong. He should have been in the bed, not Jason. He should have been looking for Jason and Five, but instead he wasted all his time on one person. A sigh escaped his lips, he hadn't been able to talk to Jason in what seemed like weeks because he turned sixteen later than most and until Nik finally decided on Dauntless, they weren't allow to speak. He never once thought that their first conversation, when he was finally a Dauntless, would be like this.
"Hey Jace." Nikolas tried to plaster on a smile, but his throat felt dry and heavy. "Sorry, I didn't come earlier." He said quietly and looked back toward the door and the clock. This was pointless. The doctor had said there was no change, he wasn't waking up, and he couldn't hear him. Even though, Nik thought all that, he couldn't gain the strength to leave the room. He hoped that somehow, someway he was wrong and maybe, just maybe, he was doing something to help Jace.
"I just couldn't bring myself to do it buddy." He said letting his smile drop. "I mean all this shit has crazy man, Lay is back. And I finally became a Dauntless and I had you still here and life was good. But it seemed like it just changed in a split second." He bit his lip. "Lay hates me now, you're in a coma, I'm on the bottom of the ranks-" He paused and took a deep breath. "Listen man, I just need you to come back, alright? I need you back because you are one of the last people left that's like my family. I don't even care if you wake up and hate me, 'Ace. Just wake up. Please, just wake up." He looked up toward the ceiling. "You can't leave me here like this, you know. We're in this together."
The door swung open and one of the volunteer's came into the room. "Visiting hours are over Mister Odysseus." She said lightly. "Okay, I'll be right there." She walked out of the room and he leaned over and whispered, "Just come back soon.", before following the volunteer out.
