Kamanosuke normally wasnât the type to cooperate with others since he preferred to do things his own way, but even he had to accept that he would have almost no chance of surviving the undead hordes by himself. Especially not with a frying pan as his lone possession. That being said, the cooking utensil did make a decent blunt melee weapon, given the right placement and amount of force.
The next two to rush at Kamanosuke were quickly finished off as his pan smashed in one zombieâs skull and he quickly whipped around to strike the otherâs head with enough strength for its head to tear off before he kicked the rest of the body away. âUgh, all this rotten zombie blood doesnât smell nearly as good as fresh blood.â He covered his nose to block out the stench that permeated the air and approached his impromptu companion, whistling at his body count. âHey, youâre not too shabby. If these zombies werenât trying to eat us, Iâd challenge you to a fight right this second! Killing mindless corpses just doesnât give me a rush like a really strong opponent would.âÂ
His partner's response slowly but surely brought a gentle smile to his lips, the one he always had while sending his opponents off. Given the other seemed to entertain the idea of indulging in his wishes, he would make sure he had the same exact expression on his face when facing the other.
"Hah, you're not so bad yourself," Kamui chuckled lightly, raising both arms in the air to stretch them, his eyes never moving away from the other male. A loud crack and his arms were dropped back to his sides. So far he liked the way this guy thought. Maybe they were not so different after all; it would make their fight all the more interesting-- if both of them happened to survive, that is.
He would make it his main goal if that meant being able to freely fight Kamanosuke on equal terms. Ah, his thoughts were drifting in the wrong direction again. First the zombies, then the brawls. "Let's get out of this alive then, shall we? Nothing would make me sadder than losing the chance to be able to measure your strength with my own hands." Because certainly, killing zombies with a frying pan wasn't enough to see what he really was capable of.
He hardly even knew anything about his partner, but he seemed to know how to defend himself without a problem, more so than what Kamui had expected at first. The boy wasn't surprised but rather pleased to know he wouldn't have to babysit someone through this ordeal-- that is, if he actually even cared about what happened to his companion. In other circumstances, he wouldn't give a damn, but about this one? Honestly, he hoped they both survived so he could confirm if the other male was really as much of a worthy opponent as he seemed to be.
Not even in a situation like this could he get his mind off his main interest, could he? For now, he would have to focus a bit more on what was right in front of him... literally. A leg raised, a swift kick and a loud crack coming from the approaching zombie's neck were enough to know it was over already. Kamui let out a long sigh the moment the creature's body hit the ground. These things died way too quickly for him to have any fun while killing them. If they at least posed the slightest bit of a fight...
"Ah, this is getting kinda boring." Boring as in 'I don't get to fight anything that makes me break a sweat and I'm growing tired of this'. That was the only kind of boring he was familiarized with. Blue hues darted around for a brief moment before he fixed his gaze on his partner.
So itâs okay for Van to start a major prison riot, right?
If that means Kamui will get some action and the chance of getting out of here then hell yes.
"Aw man, Iâm so damn hungry." Moriyama looked at his empty plate and sighed. "I shouldnât have offered my meal to that old guyâŠheâs old. Old people are supposed to die. Iâm young and all, I donât need this. I need food. With a sigh, he heard another loud growl. He looked over at the unknown male and bit his lip. Fellow comrade, I feel your pain! Was there anyone who would share even the tiniest crumb of food?
What was that he just heard about offering food?
Perking up, the redhead turned around immediately, blue hues glancing at the other male. It was disappointing to find he looked just about as hungry as him. "Why would you give up your meal in a place like this?" Was all he responded as he gave him the most innocent of looks. "Especially for an old man." No praise for his kind gesture whatsoever.
â- âA little over a year. After the first week or so it gets boring, protecting your life and your ass. Not that hard, just annoying. You get used to it pretty fast.â
"Protecting your life? I guess we have some rowdy people here, hm? I hope I get to meet them soon and see if they're really worth worrying over."
â- âArran.â
A chuckle. "Pleased to make your acquaintance." And it will probably stay as just that, because he certainly isn't here to make friends. "Say, how long have you been here? You look like you're quite used to this already."Â
â- ââŠPfft.â
"I think youâre an alright guy, whatever-your-name-is."
"Kamui will do. And yours is?"
A laugh sprung from his parted lips, and he looked to the cell across from him. It seemed like more and more interesting people were showing upâ nine time out of ten, Takasugi could read people.  Emotions, facial expressions, behavior habits⊠he could read them all.
But with this one? Not as easy.
His voice light, he said casually, âYou make me angry.â
Kamui perked up at the voice he supposed was addressing him, realizing it came from the cell across his own a brief moment after. Taking a good minute to study the other's expression thoroughly, he only could chuckle in response to such words, although he had to admit this wasn't the first time he'd heard something like that directed at him.
Still, what a weird guy. There was something about him that piqued his interest, though.Â
"May I ask why?"
The prison seemed to be specially designed to be depressing. Â Izaya doubted that the people who spent most of their time there were appreciative of that particular architectural marvel, but that wasnât really his concern. Â They tended to be a predictable lot, and he wasnât in the habit of hanging around people stupid enough to get themselves locked up, as a general rule.
But insofar as he was supposed to follow up with one of the prison administrators about someone whoâd been arrested recently, and insofar as that administrator was meeting with someone else, heâd ended up standing around far more than he would have liked.
He turned as a prisoner addressed him, and then laughed in response to the question. Â âOf course not, who would want that job? Â How boring.â Â He played with his knife, holding it close to his face to examine the blade in the pale light.
The teen tilted his head, if only slightly. He really wasn't expecting the other man to laugh, as Kamui himself didn't see the fun in neither his words nor the situation. Blue hues eyed the raven curiously as he listened to him not very intently. Despite not appearing to be very strong, he did look like an interesting man-- no, interesting wasn't the word he was searching for.Â
With a shrug, he brushed off the thought and focused on the blade he was holding for a brief moment. He couldn't possibly be another prisoner if he was wielding a weapon so calmly in this place.
"Can't say I don't agree!" The only thing he'd seen the guards do so far was wander around, keeping an eye on every being in sight. Definitely not something he would enjoy doing. "Paying a visit to someone then?"
>â- âYou just made an anal joke. In jail. Hellââ
"Ah, sorry, sorry. That was a bit cheeky, wasn't it?"
"Ah..." It was the third time his stomach had growled loudly in the past few minutes. Kamui wasn't used to going without eating for so long, not to mention the portions served in the prison didn't even compare to the amount of food he usually had.Â
At this point he really was close to stealing other prisoner's food. He didn't have any other option if he wanted to keep his stomach quiet now, did he? Before he could even make a single move, another growl echoed.
 â- ââŠYouâre smart.â
"Well, you never know who's gonna stab you in the back in a place like this, right? Though in a sense... you'd need to watch your rear in both situations, haha!"Â
â- âIf they cared about keeping a heterosexual sex life, they shouldnât have gotten their asses stuck in prison.â
"True." A short nod. "I don't think sex should be the top priority here. But to each their own!"
It wasn't the first time he'd been held prisoner. In fact, this brought back some fun memories for him. He had always managed to get away with murder one way or another, so he didn't see much problem in spending some time there. Kamui could stay calm even in this kind of situation; one could say he even looked delighted to be behind bars again.
Not that this was the case, though. He knew being stuck in this place with little to do and not being sure of what to expect from his stay in prison could very well get tedious.
"Hey, you there," he addressed the first person his sight came across, a small smile curling his lips. Not like he had much more people to choose from, really. "You must be one of the guards, right?"
â- ââŠWhen you bend over to pick it up, a man will come up behind you to force anal sex.â
"Is that so." He's not even surprised. "I guess people here really are that desperate."
