despite the news she’s about to reveal rapunzel’s lips continue to stay curled into a smile. she likes to think of it as a little hack; if she doesn’t look worried, then no one will ask questions. “unfortunately there has been a kidnapping attempt on me. it didn’t amount to anything, thank goodness, and the culprits are being held. it sure is the most eventful thing to happen here aside from our festivals.”

“ what? ” anakin draws her to a halt alongside him , hand at her arm. that won’t work on him. “ let’s take a step back. a kidnapping attempt? is additional security needed? ”

she’s counting down the moments until everyone is brought back onto the surface of the planet from the walls of the bunker. until she reunites with her friends. with her father. the excitement is more than she can handle, but she knows it’s impossible to snap her fingers and have everyone brought back from under the ground in an instant. “and you promise to tell me about how you’ve all decided to pass the time?”

the barest hint of a smile vanishes. they have passed the time in training the youngest to be wonkru warriors , exacting justice in the arena , and in trying to survive. rapunzel probably expects a tale similar to that which her brother and his friends have to tell. “ it’s not a good story. it’s been hard. ”
