school related BLOG ...omg YES! i said it..
First Blog (FOR SCHOOL) Post and it already seems like I know what I'm Doing.... Joke. Having a blog is more than just putting our 'verbal vomit' out for the world to read to get a better understanding of our Peers, But it also gives us a better understanding that we all are not the same, and that’s OK. Really, it is! But when it comes to effectively communicating with other people, there are some things that we must keep in mind.
When you are interacting socially or professionally, I believe we ALWAYS remain calm and not be in ANY way aggressive, some people take it as an attack. I think that when people feel like they are being attack they get on the Offense and will block the field goal of your point.. (little football reference if you didn't catch that! lol) <--sarcasam if you didn’t get that... ha. You will grow to see that My mind has a LOT to put out there so there will be a LOT of words that will come out on here, that WILL make sense once we put it all together here, so here we go! Effective communication people! That is the point of this post, effective communication! I don't want to sound like one of those people trying to sell points for life at a $350.00 seminar, with all the reiteration, I just want to get the point across, and with that, continues.
When you are asked your opinion, this can be a tough scenario that can cause an immediate and impacting look of yourself depending on who the person on the other side is. An opinion is something we all have, but in personal situations, the opinions can either be the reason someone doesn't like you, or the reason they think a certain way of you. In a professional setting, your opinion can be the reason you may or may not get the job, or why you may or may not get the promotion. Opinions are very sensitive subjects, it’s a make or break for some people. I believe that if you do want to give the real real about your opinion, back it up with the facts behind it. It will show that you not only understand why your opinion makes sense, and will show that you actually did your homework on why you answered the way you did. If you decide to answer an opinion question in a professional setting to appease the audience, which, come on, we have all done, make sure you back that up to with information for coming to that conclusion.
Well, Communicating Effectively can be the key the relationships, the key to friendships and the key to a peaceful working environment. Being able to really Listen to someone when they are talking is BIG, eye contact is HUGE and ensuring that you are following along with what they are saying by the occasional head nod, or 'yeah'. This lets to whom you are communicating with that you ARE listening, this I feel is the BIGGEST point in effective communication. People now a days don't really take what most people say seriously because we have all been hurt by others, and it's hard to look people in the eye when we speak to each other; especially if it’s a sensitive subject like love, life, growing, parenting, and sex. If we have been hurt by other we love, those topics are hard to speak about, pain and communication, pain from communication, communication healing pain. Effective communication can heal pain, and making sure that the person you are communicating with understands you, or where you are coming from is vital to the communication working.
What most people need to understand is that we all have something to say, and we all feel that what we have to say is important. So as long as we really listen to what people are saying, with their mannerisms, with their eye sight, with their stance, with the way they speak, all off that is communication, and to ensure that we Effectively Communicate, we need to ensure all of these things are open to listening. Listening is key to Effective Communication
