(4th of July Fireworks from Boston’s Esplanade on July 4, 2013.)
Sunset in Somerville MA June 15 2019.
On the eve of the new year, an image for you all from this summer’s Independence Day fireworks in Boston. I share it with you with my new year’s resolution (my first in years!): take more photographs. I’m not promising to get back to posting daily images like I posted in 2013, but I am resolving to post one new image (taken within the past two weeks) every week. Wish me luck!Â
Tomorrow I’m heading out to Boston’s Esplanade to celebrate Independence Day with friends and fun, and will try to get some shots of the fireworks again this year (and hope get poured on like last year)! Wish me luck! July 3, 2014.Â
Happy zombie chocolate bunny/marshmallow bird/jelly bean day! Â I decorated these eggs a few years ago with old silk ties I got at Goodwill. April 5, 2015.
The waxing Moon, Venus, and Mars clustered in the south-western sky after a crisp winter sunset. February 20, 2015.
I organized an ice skating event for the local branch of my university's alumni association today, and captured this image of a friend skating with his wife. February 7, 2015.
There's no better way to start off a snowy Saturday than with the smell of coffee brewing. January 3, 2015.
Frost on my window, looking out over Boston's snowpocalypse. January 27, 2015.
My neighbor's dog enjoying the snow from Winter Storm Juno! Â January 27, 2015.
Musicians playing at Jackson Square in New Orleans' French Quarter. December 29, 2014.
Bass player in a band at Cafe Negril on Frenchman Street in New Orleans. December 30, 2014.Â
I came back from NOLA more than a little (re)obsessed with fleurs de lis. December 30, 2014.Â
This trombone player in New Orleans' Jackson Square was incredibly expressive - both when he played, and when he acted as master of ceremonies, shouting to the gathered crowd "If you like the band, tip the band... and if you don't like the band, tip the band anyway!" December 30, 2014.Â
NOLA at night: looking up Pirates Alley from Jackson Square to Royal Street in the French Quarter. December 29, 2014.
I'm not normally a fan of jazz, nor do I typically listen to music with mostly brass instruments (ok, let's face it, I mostly listen to 40 pop hits from the last few decades, musical theatre hits, and the glee soundtrack), but my absolute favorite part about New Orleans was the street music scene. I spent a few hours one afternoon just sitting on a bench in Jackson Square listening to this street band - and watching the faces of the musicians like this one as the entertained the crowds. December 29, 2014.
'Desire' it's not, but it's a NOLA streetcar all the same! Â The St. Charles Streetcar, running from New Orleans' French Quarter to the Garden District, at dusk. December 29, 2014.Â
