Full series "Feral Felis Catus" on the semi-feral cats that navigate my yard and the neighbors.
👉 if neighbors collaborated on the issue of these homeless cats, care could be divided up between those who feed, those who trap-neuter-return and those who medicate against fleas and worms. Costs would likely even up and efforts would result in a much healthier community cat population.
Photo series on the semi-feral cats that navigate between my garden, the neighbors and the streets. I adopted these two who are currently undergoing spaying and neutering. The male is on VitK treatment for rat poisoning. It's been a rough start. These wild cats are a lot of work but I'm sure it'll pay off. The female is 90% converted and socialized.

New series "Feral Felis Catus" (link in bio) on semi-feral cats. Here is a courting scene between a mature male and a blossoming, female kitten. TNR (trap, neuter and release) was performed on the male. The female is in the process of adoption. These animals are wild and have no experience with human interaction if only to be fed by a few caring neighbors. On my property alone, the population has definitely multiplied in concerning numbers. I'm just learning about the nature of these intelligent and shy creatures. It's been a real challenge and more emotional than I would have expected. TNR has been proven to be the best way to control overpopulation of feral cats, reduce aggression and fighting thereby reducing the spread of infectious diseases such as feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency (FIV). Community awareness is also rather sparse, if not completely inexistant. Sadly, these cats don't have a very good prognosis. Life expectancy is low and they are condemned to living in hunger ridden with disease. #feralkitten #trapneuterandrelease #felinemating #kitteninheat #animalphotography #catphotography #communitycats #communitycatscommunityeffort #communitycatcarers
