Hello, it is nine goats stacked in a 直裾 🫡
他 They/9goats/creature
I'll be sharing some hanfu outfits/inspired and this will be the guiding page to help keep track/give context. I'll update sections and this page when needed. As always with tumblr click on the image for better quality and that color pop✨️*
Guide
Most posts will be tagged ootd because they are basic not shiny photos of my outfits as I remember to take them.
Occasionally, there will be more photoshoot styles/events and I'll tag those photoshoot.
I might get inspired to do crafts or sewing related to hanfu in which case I'll update this page if those tags get created. Getting into this interest has made me go, could I make that??? I have no skill so always fun.
Idk maybe I'll share food????
I might remember to tag some of the pieces/dynasties and their names in which case you can find them by looking up that word. I give no promises how complete that will be. Same with studios the pieces are from, no promises. People can ask and I can dig around.
Notes: I'm happy if anyone wants to take inspo/draw or whatever just tag me thank you! :D
Context
1) First off I am by no means an expert nor even that knowledgable. I am very much still learning a lot so questions about history, structure and the like should go to other hanfu blogs. This is supposed to be a low stress shallow blog to store/share outfits and photos.
2) I'm not a strict traditionalist and much of my outfits mix dynasties and wearing styles so accuracy is not a large concern unless I'm doing events where the dress code is stricter historical.
I think it is important to know what is considered historical and appropriate (disclaimer that the field is still ongoing and thoughts can/do change for clothing categorizations wearing styles the types of people who wore such garments etc). But this is not the blog for that. 😁
3) Queer. Yay Gay:D Mostly stating this to show yes, queer chinese exist and not just in danmei. And it's totally possible to be into culture things these identities do not cancel anything out. lol just look at chinese history it is not a new thing despite what own people or western gays who think they bring gay enlightenment think.
4) I can't control who sees these images, but I can make some thoughts known. If people are liking sharing and playing with chinese things who aren't chinese I would wish they be respectful. I am diaspora I have had to deal with a lot of shit.
We, not in the majority, see the people who despise and mock us only to take and take but never give. People who like "exotic" things only to support strict borders and deportations. People who say they love the "culture" but see no one from that culture as human, only an object of consumption and fetishsization.
I'm happy to share and think culture sharing is genuinely important. I have also been through so much shit as many diaspora have. Understand where some of us are coming from.
Anywho, this is supposed to be a low stress shallow blog my life is busy.
Thanks for stopping by! 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
*I'll get to sharing the photoshoot that first image is from at some point. Yes, I made that feather fan or at least I bought a basic fan base and stuck a bunch of feathers on it:)
