Hey Cloud. How are you? What do you do now after the story with Geostigma?

Hey-- I'm good, you?Well, pretty much I just run deliveries. Once in awhile I’ll pick up a job if people need some monsters cleared out and, when I can, I like to help Tifa out around the bar. I try to help Denzel and Marlene out with stuff when they need it, but we usually end up sidetracked just running around the place. It’s not too much but it’s not crazy and I’ve finally got time for a little peace. It’s kinda nice. Other than that, Reeve’s got me on speed dial and Rocket Town is on my list of places I visit frequently. Cid’s couch is always open and there’s a chance I’ll run into Vincent out there. That’s the norm. Right now though, most of my time is taken up trying to get Sephiroth back on his feet. Basically, I’m just helping him find a job he likes, that kind of thing. The next couple days though I’m just going to sit at home and make sweets. Hallow’s Eve is pretty soon and where we’re at, we’ll probably get a lot of kids coming around the place. Good excuse to bake, if you ask me.

If Sephiroth is trying to learn more about the world, and he wants a job... why doesn't he become a reporter or someone who writes about the world for a living, or at least for some spare change on contract? While reading his blog I noticed he's very good at keeping a neutral tone and I think he would be very diligent in perusing facts and information... though I don't know how good he'd be at interviewing people. Sincerely, a journalist.

A journalist... I guess I could see him doing that. You’re right about his tone. He’s pretty neutral about a lot of things and you’re definitely right about the facts. He gets a little obsessive about learning, especially when it’s about things that interest him. Right now, I think he’d have a bit of a problem with it to be honest. A good portion of the population still fears him despite the efforts made by the WRO and the rest of us. It might get a bit better once he meets a few more people, but it’s ridiculous to expect the world to just welcome him back with open arms right off the bat. Still, a job where he has to interact with a group like that could be beneficial in a way. He’d get some extra interaction, see a few new places, meet some people and we wouldn’t be cooped up too badly if he did things that required travel. Working that into my schedule is easy and one trip works out nicely for the both of us. Now, those things aside, he’s not exactly a people person. So, the point you brought up about the interviewing is probably exactly what would happen. He might intimidate most of them. Or all of them.Other than that, I’m sitting here trying to figure out if I’ve actually seen him write anything other than his name. Maybe he can give it a shot if anyone wants to suggest some topics to try out.

IMO, Sephiroth would make a great model. How do you think that suggestion would go over with him?

Modelling went over pretty well, actually. At first, I was a little skeptical because he’s big on personal space, but it’s been added to the list of potential jobs he’d be willing try in the future, assuming others don’t work out. There’s really not much else to say. There’s a lot of promise in a job like that; flexibility, variety, and it’d be easy for him to work around any kind of hourly schedule he set up. If you can handle being stared at for extended periods of time, why not? Sitting around looking pretty and getting paid for it sounds okay to me.

Small Update

Recently, Sephiroth has been trying to find a job that suits him. So far, I think he's decided being a mechanic isn't very high on his list and Cid probably agrees it's not the best idea. Maybe Tifa is right and I should start using the camera on the PHS more often.

I think Cid's just glad to have Sephiroth out of his shop for the day, honestly, and Sephiroth seems to be having a great time trying to get the grease out of his hair. The visit with Vincent was nice though.

If you have any suggestions for him, let us know. I'm not so good at coming up with ideas he likes. He wasn't very agreeable when I suggested he be a plumber. No idea why.

I know that most of the parcels are probably boring/contents indiscernible, but have you ever delivered anything strange or interesting?

I’ve gotten a few odd things. It kind of comes with the job description. There were a couple memorable ones though...I think the strangest one was a box I got from an older lady just outside of Rocket Town. She asked me to take it to a man in Midgar since I was headed that way. It was pretty plain; just wrapped in brown paper, like normal, light, tied with some string just in case. It wasn’t exactly tiny and kind of smelled like dirt, but I took it and started back anyway. It was a couple hours after I left and stopped for a break that I kind of started to wonder. The box made this weird rustling sound. I left it alone but it did it again and, really, I do have a policy about transporting live creatures. I’ll do it, but I’d like some heads-up first and some proper packing for the little guys at least. Anyway, I peeled back some of the paper and wasn’t really expecting to see eyes that big staring up at me. But, you know, it wasn’t really that bad. Scared me, yeah but it’s hard to turn your nose up at a chicobo. I never found the man I was supposed to deliver him to and Cid suggested I not return him to the woman. I didn’t really ask why but, I kept him. They’re kind of cute, especially that small. He’s a green Marlene named Shrub. The only other thing of real note was a packet of old fanclub papers someone was trying to send to Reeve and a couple of strange boxes addressed to a cave near Midgar.  I guess it kind of makes sense why Reeve kept getting all of those old packages with Shinra stuff now.

Were you at all shocked to see Sephiroth again? Especially seeing him sane?

Yeah, you could say that. I think it's pretty understandable I might have been...kind of hostile?

I didn't believe he was sane to begin with, but when he kept calling me by my rank instead of my name, a few things didn't really add up: he didn't have Masamune or dark circles under his eyes, and he was pretty disoriented which, that alone was kind of a shock. 

Seeing him sane was a completely different matter. I was suspicious, obviously, and continued to be for quite a while.

...sleeping was a little difficult.

Required Introduction

A few weeks ago, Sephiroth showed up in Nibelheim, once again, and I’ve been helping him get acquainted with the world recently. Though our friendship probably seems odd to a handful of you, it’s working well and, as of now, I have no plans to end it anytime soon. After much encouragement from Reeve, I agreed to do the same thing Sephiroth is and answer any questions you might have. Please understand that I’m pretty busy. I still run deliveries when I can and I’ll have to get used to making sure I check this. With Sephiroth around, however, I’m pretty sure it will be hard to forget.
