alright but thinking about how curie’s the kind of servant who regularly has to wrestle against touko’s much more headstrong personality at a daily basis makes me cry bc they’re so different yet so similar in the sense that despite them being relentless researchers, curie has more of a heart than touko does and touko herself can’t stand being so generous, especially when money’s concerned...........

caster, to ensure that she won’t be confused with rider (marie), would often get others to call her by her last name, curie, or her original name, maria. her middle name, salomea, is highly discouraged unless she knows you very well not to use that name as a kind of mockery for her; relating back to the biblical figure that she detests most.

       “TRULY, I MAY NOT be able to offer much support, especially when I mostly rely on what little I have, but I truly thank you for having me....” A small, uncertain smile; Curie never liked war, but as she is in one at present, then there’s really not much of a choice. “I know that everyone expects the most out of me, especially given the vessel I occupy at present....but it does get hard. I really should think that they were expecting someone else; nobility, probably? Someone more suited? My wish is small, and yet....”

       “I WORK, AND THAT’S THAT.” There’s really nothing to it; if this girl was going to keep pushing and prodding at her business, then Curie sees no reason to continue bantering with her. She was always rather volatile no matter how much she hated to admit it; a little bit and she gets slightly riled up, hard frowns pressed and nerves throbbing as they tick! “If you’re going to upkeep this behavior, Master, I am afraid that I shall have you out of my room post-haste. For short,” she says, placing an emphasizing beat before speaking, “if you’re going to insult me in my own sanctum, get the hell out.”

       But as soon as she says, it, a hand flies to her mouth; no, no, she wasn’t supposed to say that! “Wait, no, I....! That wasn’t what I intended to....!”

       A DIFFERENT EXISTENCE promised a non-existent hunger, and yet, she feels it far more than what is allotted, what is allowed. She knows not whether it is the will of the one she has politely borrowed or something else, but she keeps heart - she smiled on in hopes of numbing the hunger pangs thrumming at her stomach. Curie ought to have gotten used to this, she really ought to, but a single, most embarrassing growl (not a peep, but a prolonged melody of agony!) escaped from her stomach, prompting a hand to fly straight to her mouth in shock. Mortification soon followed after upon realizing that someone else was within the vicinity; at the opportune time to hear that offending noise in question.

       “.....A-Ah.....” Curie stammered, quickly straightening herself up in an instinctive display of defense against none other than one who has defended many; her against a strategist, surely she would lose! “.....Ah, I...I do apologize....!” Best to lay down arms.
