you first met & cheeks are flushed you try & hide your emotions with your hands to your face. your heart beating out of your chest. shit, you never felt this way before. it's something you never experience before. you fell for them, every second they laughed at one of your jokes, every minute you spent with each other, & every hour you spent thinking about them. next thing you know you stop talking about life, about your future, & getting to know each other. now you are here. doing something to numb the pain. to make it all go away. to forget every memory you had with them. then you start to think, to think about how you stayed up late to talk to them, to think about old memories that make you still smile, & to think that you use to be their world. you try & hide your thoughts but it's as clear as the day, you're empty, you're broken & you aren't yourself anymore. remembering their touch still makes your heart skip a beat, how they took your hand & you followed blindly. you gaze up at the stars & you stop yourself to reminisce about when the world looked so bright, now all you see is black & white. who would've thought a person can change so much about your perspective on life. you put so much trust in one person, you gave them your heart, you gave them every dark secret, & you feel exposed around them. with tears running down your face you wonder if life would've been better if you never met them. but the reality is life wouldn't have been the same. you didn't get your happy ending like the fairytales, like how cinderella ended up with prince charming. it's crazy how cruel the world is, how something so pure & good can get ruined in seconds, how people don't understand what it's like to be broken into pieces, to be stabbed in the back by the 'love of your life'. how can someone love & trust again? after what they have been through, having their trust be crumpled up like paper. you try & swim free from the seas of sadness, you try & forget about it by doing something to distract you, but little did you know you come back more empty than you left. there use to be something enchanting about your eyes, now since they left the only thing in your eyes are tears. they were your everything & now you've lost yourself.
