May every woman find the truest love in the personhood of her husband.
May every lone soul find its own mate in the personhood of its spouse.
Because not everyone does.

How arrogant of us to wish for waking up to a successful future when we haven’t even stood up to pray.
Currently at that point in my life where the one worldly thing that gets my heart racing is the thought of an uninterrupted 8-hour sleep.
And good quality hot chocolate.
Here’s a friendly reminder to never waste your time expecting people to have the same heart as you.
Preserve your character whenever you can.
Amazing how everything else in this world becomes so trivial whenever we’re reminded of our one true purpose.
Of that one perfect destination.
If I’m going there, I’m taking everyone with me.
إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللّٰهُ
The death of a loved one will humble you. Your own death won’t. When you pass away, you may have already lost your chance to redeem your soul.
So when a loved one dies, take it as the best reminder. Remember that person.
Remember his good deeds.
Remember his faith.
And in that remembrance, remember Allah.
To Him we belong, to Him we shall return.
May Allah distance us from souls who are cloaked in insincerity, feigned intentions and fake affections.
May He make us amongst the kindred ones or those who struggle to be one—the ones who refuse to plant malice and envy in their hearts. Someone who tries to be a source of goodness for his brothers and sisters.

How arrogant of us to wish for waking up to a successful future when we haven’t even stood up to pray.
Amazing how the sudden passing of people you don’t personally know can bring grief to one’s heart.
Just this week, a poor man in my small town was driving his tricycle when he got hit by a speeding car. He died on the spot. It was 7 AM. He was probably up early that morning to gather passengers. Probably thinking about how much money he’ll take home to his family. Probably.
What’s not just probable is that he was a struggling father with a pregnant wife and eight kids. It was the reality of the situation. And so was his death..
Amazing how death be really putting things into perspective, eh?
Society says to do our best—-career and all.
But let’s be mindful of the real goal:
Jannatul firdaus.
O Allah, make me become a source of goodness for every soul that I meet.

Sisters, it really is true that whenever you make du’a with a sincere heart, you have to actually believe that God will grant it. You have to really manifest it. Moreover, intention (niyyah) is key. Find a way to relate your wish/request to something that will benefit your faith in God or something that will help you service others for the sake of God.
Just a few days back, I made du’a for this thing that I really want to accomplish. And, Wallah, my worries suddenly went away and there came this mysterious surge of confidence in my heart that it will be answered. And it did. It did! And I am not one who’s good in shooing away her anxieties. Like, I have to pep talk myself more than once in a while. So me being anxious-free so suddenly was a sign.

In Allah we trust.
When you come to a point where you realize that you can never be something/someone you’re not, you’ll then acknowledge that you don’t necessarily have to become it.
Wanting something could just also mean being inclined or attuned to it. That doesn’t mean that you have to be like one.
Maybe this is one reason why we come to meet and befriend souls with interests or personalities that are entirely different from ours. Sometimes we just have to be the complement of one another, much like ying to its yang.
Loving prayers for our parents, forefathers, brothers, and sisters who have returned to our Creator. May they reach the brighter heavens and may their graves be gardens of paradise.
Dear God, grant us a beautiful reunion with them in the afterlife.

Ya Allah, I pray that you make me be amongst the people of qur’an and make it one of the means by which I am relieved of distress from this dunyah.
Forgive me for my errors in recitation and increase me in knowledge about it.
Maybe it’s not written for you...
And just when you finally think you’re over it, for some reason, you still end up praying for it.
Do you ever wonder why that is?
That maybe you are being guided by The Almighty into praying for it? to keep praying for it?
That maybe, just maybe...it’s written for you after all.
The Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) exemplified kindness in the most difficult situations, which couldn’t compare to our petty circumstances:
If your boss belittled you, choose kindness.
If a stranger offended you, choose kindness.
If a friend betrayed you, choose kindness.
If your relatives don’t believe enough in you, choose kindness.
Feeling hurt, sometimes, to the point of being spiteful is valid. That’s how the human heart is. But at the end of it all, it is not up to us to put judgment and decree on other people’s actions towards us. It’s up to Him, The Al-Hakam.
Be mindful of your actions and reactions.
And you will be rewarded. InshaAllah.

Hurry to prayer, hurry to success.
It’s a sad reality that not all of us have the privilege of hearing the Adhan 5x a day. Some cry over it, some yearn for it. Some have never ever heard of it.
Here’s a reminder for us to pray for success in this world and the hereafter—the latter being non-negotiable. Always.
