chip!! chip!! yum!!
I love the comics you’ve made of Tails and depicting his inner struggle and I love this direction for his character.
It feels like a great way to build off of his arc in adventure one. Tails is more or less confident in his ability to do things on his own. But now, he has to properly figure out how he goes about doing those things. To not just do things on his own, but to do things in his own way. In other words, to uncover his true identity, become confident in who that person is outside of Sonic, and truly reach his full potential.
It’s why I’ve always hated it when people write Tails acting more like Sonic as if it’s who Tails actually is. It feels wrong. Because I’ve always seen Tails as a contrast to Sonic. Anytime that Tails does act like Sonic, I’ve always seen it as him using it as a substitute for the parts of himself that he hasn’t figured out yet. He falls back on copying Sonic as a crutch because he isn’t confident in who he actually is. At least. That’s how I interpreted your comics. As a person who’s spent a long time struggling to figure out their identity, they really resonated with me. Thank you very much for making them.
that's pretty spot on! overcoming self worth issues is truly a beast of task to do. i also struggled with self identity myself when i was younger. received a bunch of affirmations from people i looked up to, stood up for myself when i was pushed...but for some reason, i found myself back at square one when i was left with my own thoughts. it's hard. it's really hard to knock what we internalize from a young age.
and that's what i noticed about tails when revisiting this franchise. thank you so much for sharing your thoughts corvussio!
give tails some reassurance!!
sonic would NOT like tails talking to himself like that
of course sonic wouldn’t but this is an ongoing story about tails’ internal struggle. sonic wouldn’t know what tails is saying about himself in his head
