purses, bags, getting nails done are things that excite me. When I am bored, I often go online shopping, go to the mall or get my nails done. I believe that shopping and a perfect spa treatment is the solution to any girls problem.

Bullying is not cool! People may bully to conform in a social group while at school. They may want to seem more powerful and thus they pick on others. Bystanders don't take action because they do not want to be "involved" but technically they are. Psychologically, the bystander effect brings out an aspect known as diffusion of responsibility.Diffusion of responsibility is when the more people there are, the less action taken. Everyone must help stop bullying. If we see bullying we must stop it and not just look at it and leave.
In my family I am the youngest child. I believe this chart is accurate, because I am a huge risk taker, i love going out and getting to know people, and I just am bored easily when I am not busy. I have an older brother that is over protective of me and tells me what and what not to do. My parents believe that I should look up to him.
Straightner is an invention that I love, and am happy for, because without a straightner my hair would be annoying, and hard to style. The problem with this straightner is that, its good to use for the moment, but in the long run it kills my hair.
A time were I felt alienated or like an anomie would be when at school my peers were at some math club talking and helping each other in math , and I felt left out because I had no clue what they were talking about and I am really weak at math.
Should we conform or just be ourselves?
I find it somewhat disappointing when people conform to situations, especially if they don’t want too. If someone does not want to agree with something but does so, because everyone else does, it can be quite disappointing. People shouldn't be afraid to express what they really thing. At the same time I am being hypocritical about this because you don’t want to be different and stand out to the crowd so I guess it makes sense when people conform.
I feel like conforming to a situation to fit in relates to the symbolic interaction theory, because we want others to have a normal perception of us, therefore we try to be like everyone else.
A time were I conformed was when I came to high school and almost everyone had Jansport bags. It was on the media too and it was trending. I had an adidas backpack, and I was lucky that I didn't buy my new bag yet, so I decided to pick up a Jansport bag, and fit along.
Marijuana is now illegal. Protests are taking place because people want it to be legal. This is a negative social change because now that people can’t smoke marijuana , they are smoking it illegally.
"I am not who I think I am, I am not who you think I am, I am who I think you "- Thomas Cooley
This is a quote that I memorized by Thomas Cooley. I strongly agree with this quote. We care about what other people think about us, and we look at ourselves from what we believe is the other person's eye. The way we look at things connects to our psychology and how comfortable we are around certain people. In a way we do things to conform and we expect to think that, from another persons view, we are normal and we fit into society.
My health means a lot to me, and I always go to the gym where I can work out and help myself feel better. I see a lot of people there regularly, and it feels like were all there for the same reason so I don’t feel different or unaccepted at the gym. As a group we all want to be healthy in our society.
The Halls of MCI (Middle field Collegiate Institute)
When I first walked into the halls of MCI I was a “freshmen” and now I’m a senior. It’s incredible to see how years went by and how I went from a freshman to a senior so fast. When I was a Freshman; A time when every move I made was scary, because of the older people in the school and the thought and fear that they would hurt me. Never did I look or try to associate with anyone until i realized that everyone was very kind. They all ended up being really nice, helpful and fun to talk too. This is the reason why I am nice to the freshmen, sophomores and juniors in our school. As a senior sometimes I feel like I have more power (Bourgeoisie), but at the same time, I feel like I’m surrounded by kids.
I am a Sagittarius female. Horoscopes is something i love to check out on a lot. Everyone has their own horoscopes. Some people believe it is true, others do not however that doesn't change anything, because we are still the horoscope we fall under.
Karl Marx was a German sociologist that believed: the lack of economic power among the working class, created lack of social and political power. Karl Marx focused on conditions of workers. He was a major contributor to sociology and was the founder of conflict school of sociology. Karl Marx believed that conflict is a driving force behind a change in society.
This is another ritual that took place several years ago. This is a coming of age ritual, once a girl matures into a woman, she is blessed with luck and a ceremony takes place so that friends and families now know she is now a woman, and thus she should be treated as a woman in society.
This is a picture of my first tooth ceremony when i was one year old. Beside me is my cousin and my older brother. In my culture, we believe that once a child gets their first tooth, a ceremony is to be thrown. In this ceremony, a white sheet would be placed on the baby's head. Food, candy, sweets, pencils , books , and money will be on a tray. The baby's maternal uncle and his wife has to take the tray and drop it on the babies head. The baby then will pick up an item. If the baby picks up a money, they will be very wealthy, if the baby picks up a pencil they will be intelligent, and if the baby picks up a food item, they will eat a lot. During my tooth ceremony I picked up an apple but reached for the apple with a pencil. I chose both apple and pencil. This means I will be intelligent and I will eat a lot. This ceremony took place in Canada. Even though we were in a different county, we still practiced our cultural rituals.
