Unfortunately I come here today to post with a hint of desperation.
I’m currently in the USA staying with my girlfriend until late July (for those who didn’t know, I’m from the UK), and had planned to have a fun-packed few months together here, and then she’d come back to the UK with me. However, not too long after I arrived, her workplace decided to cut her - and a handful of staff’s - hours in half without warning, effective straight away.
I’ve been helping as much as possible (I can’t work over here on a tourist Visa without breaking the law), but despite cutting all unnecessary costs, money is kinda slowly melting away as we struggle to even pay rent, let alone afford to do fun things together. I’ve had to tell my mum back in England to put a few things up for sale, I’ve had to cancel on a convention I had planned on going to in August, and we’re pretty much surviving on beans on toast and tap water. Okay that’s a slight exaggeration, but the point is we’re being as strict with our grocery costs as possible. I’m going to look for a job on top of my fairly-low music income once I get home, but I can’t do anything while I’m still here aside from trying very hard to help her find a second job. Alas, everywhere we’ve tried is saying “we’ll let you know in a few weeks”, which might be fine in a few weeks, but it also might be “no, sorry” in a few weeks, in which case we both will definitely not be fine in a few weeks.
Oh also on top of all this, my phone recently seems to have contracted a terrible case of ‘Dead’. So that’s nice.
I hate to have to do this, I really do. I’m pretty stubborn with being able to fend for myself, but at this point, at least while I’m not in my home country, any help would be incredibly… well, helpful. So if you’re able, here’s some ways you can do just that:

I’m a little hesitant but also excited about this one, since I’ve never actually done commission work before, and I’m not good at working to hyper-specific rules, but if you like what I do, and are willing to give me a decent amount of freedom to make something for you (something like music for a game you’re working on would be ideal, but hit me up), then I’m open to this. I’m also not really sure how much to charge for this sort of thing, but I usually take about 5-7 hours to finish a piece, so idk, something like $50-70. Maybe. I’m not sure yet.
