Greetings. Welcome to my blog. My name is Nix. I am a mortician, zoologist, mother and Octo-Agent. I hope we become well acquainted soon. In the meantime, feel free to look around. Just don't interfere with the cadavers. And if you're here in my family's behalf, I am not interested in any man they send my way so please leave me alone.

In addition to being my Octonauts sideblog, this also an askblog and maybe an RP blog. Just be clear on whether you're talking to me, the mod, or to OCs and canon characters.

This is also an AU blog. Unless it doesn't contradict anything I've established or if I like the idea, don't expect to go along with your headcanons willy-nilly. My version of the Octonauts is also gonna be different from canon.

This blog revolves around shipping, mainly my OC x Canon ship between Nix and Captain Barnacles. They're an established couple on this blog.

I've never drawn the Vegimals before (I think), and that's mostly because I couldn't figure out whether I wanted to redesign them for my AU or keep them exactly the same.

At first, I wanted to keep them the same but now I'm leaning on redesigning.

Peso and Nix always wear disposable gloves in my AU. They change them frequently as well, especially after doing their jobs. But between the two, Nix changes hers the most since she deals with animal remains.

Twins Polaris and Barnius

I was working on an ask and I noticed that I haven't drawn the twins just by themselves, they're either in a group or one twin being paired with Barnacles instead, so I wanted to make an artwork that spotlights just these two.

Since I wanted to do a quick drawing, I didn't draw their accessories 😅 but it kinda works since it shows just how identical they are (the mirror ruler kinda carried though).

Character Lore: (Spoilers!)

I'm aware that they're essentially Barnacles with a different eye color and to be honest that's how it originally started. I wanted to experiment with Barnacles' character but I didn't want to drastically change him since his canon personality is interesting enough as it is, so I resorted to make a Barnacles lookalike with a different personality to interact with Barnacles to see how it plays out hence Barnius🐻‍❄️, then the AU developed and resulted in Barnius' fleshed out personality and Polaris shortly afterwards.

So now that my AU is well established, I needed a good reason why the three of them look alike, so instead of pure coincidence that they look identical to Barnacles, it would make more sense if they were related so in my AU, they are a spitting image of their maternal grandfather, with them inheriting the eye colors of their fathers. Hopefully, this gives more of a plausibility to their existence in my AU, then again the hybrids are more of a stretch than these two 😂

Also their names are an accidental pun! Since the older twin is Polaris, the order would be Polaris Barnius, it's like making the Polar Bear into a name!

Loves surfing and trying out her machines.

she actually knew Kwazii long before the octonauts so hes like a long lost brother she aint ever letting go EVER again.
