This is what I made with that yarn I bought. Little booties for my new niece. I sort of followed this description (swedish only sry, this is a similar one in english) but not really since I am way too impatient and think I'm way too punk to follow instructions. They came out good anyway!

A trip to Hoboken is probably the easiest way to go to another state and see Manhattan from another angle. We found a yarn store that had a superbowl(?!) sale, I got two skeins of a cashmere blend for a project I hope to show you later! The owner recommended Louise & Jerry's bar since "it is not like... most other bars here". I think that means not full of loud and annoying people. Frank Sinatra was born here, so of course you need to have a slice of pizza before you leave too!

I'm a huge Eric Rohmer fan, so much that I watched Un Beau Mariage in french with spanish subtitles (I speak neither). It was good anyway. I just read afterwards what is was actually about on imdb. I would even recommend watching more movies like that and make up your own plot. There is a scene in this movie when there's a house party and they dance to this song that is absolutely mindblowing.

Yesterday I went to hear Morton, Nick, Nick and John play at our local bar Goodbye Blue Monday. The place looks like it's decorated by a little old lady and her grandson on acid. I feel right at home. Beers are cheap and they have the most heavily stickered bathroom mirror I've even seen. I wanna do the same with mine but with only cat stickers one day!

Snow day! Feels like christmas again, which is good because we haven't thrown out the christmas tree yet... Also very happy about the boots santa gave me on days like this!

There's a new thing I collect, stills from movies featuring bookshelves! It irks me real bad I can't remember which film the first one was from but I think it was Spoorloos? The middle one is from Even Cowgirls get the Blues and the last one from Flashdance. Aiming to have at least 50 and then get a gallery show! J.k.

Tonight I went to the West Village with Adina, Elsa and Nick to take an introduction class in natural perfume making at Enfleurage. We learned how to start blending your own scents, that sandalwood is getting extinct and that cardamom and vanilla can be very overpowering and that the best grain alcohol can be found in New Jersey. Dreaming of taking more classes down here one day.

Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without is a saying I am trying to live by. I don't have a sewing machine here but I enjoy having a sewing project beside the computer to work on while restarting/rendering/downloading/waiting for feedback or so. The jacket on the top is my current project, I am adorning it with some fabric patches I have amassed over the years. The jean shorts I love to death so they were almost falling apart before I sewed on the patches on them last summer. The leather elbow patches recently went on my favourite grey sweater that I have worn so much there were holes on both elbows. Ta-daa!

Ack, New York you old charmer. Yesterday was so bright and sunny I had to take a break from work and go for a walk somewhere I haven't really been before. I took the J all the way to Broad street and made it through the tourist herds to Battery Park and walked around with the joggers and dog walkers. The sun reflecting off the water was blinding in a way you need to be a swede raised on pitch dark winters to really appreciate. I saw the Irish Hunger Memorial and found a stray flower bulb that I pick pocketed when no one was watching. I wonder what it's gonna become!

Turning this photo I took of Sarah into a drawing for an upcoming project. Trying to accurately draw out-of-focus or motion blur (like her ponytail in the photo) is a new favourite of mine!
