Snorkeling Malediwy. Świat podwodny na Malediwach. Rafa koralowa Malediwy. Najlepsza rafa Malediwy
Nilandhoo is known to have a very rich biodiversity, this blog captured 6 different location of the lagoon area of Nilandhoo, over the past year and how it was back in 2016. Some of the marine life such as Turtles, Nurse Shark, Reef Shark, Lion Fish, Puffer Fish, Sea Slug, Marble Ray, Eagle Ray, Feather-tail Sting Ray, Anemone Fish, Trigger Fish are captured here. How the coral bleached reef has bounced back in over 4 years is astounding. Have a look at this breathtaking marine life that would be living under our floating structures!
Transformation.
Tried many ways from double hulls to other wave breakers. the most effective way to minimise waves i found was the method used in naval architecture. The stabilising method used in aircraft landing ones that are situated at seas. The hulls have horizontal fins at the bottom with a weight to reduce the movement, making the wave effects break and making it harder for the structure to move.
For the shallow area the design looks different but the same method is used.
Section of floating hull group 1.
This is a pendulum floating structure that uses recycled concrete waste such as concrete and metal as a counterweight to balance the buoyancy. Due to the infrastructure development, large quantities of construction waste is produced everywhere. This is extremely viable for the long run.
The structure also provides a lighter storage space for commercial and residential storage uses. The stabiliser fins reduces the wave effects even more. The shell is completely made of fiberglass (recycled plastic) with an internal metal structure. This metal structure can also be continued to the corals underneath. Metal is known to progress coral growth in coral-farming.
Height of the structures varies from the depth of area. Varying the surface width with it. The outer surface of the shell is coated with a protective layer and then covered with wood as the sun could damage the protective layer on shell. These are the foundation of the pods and are to be connected together in the floating community.

Work continues on the development of the master plan design . Focusing on the sustainability and the connectivity of created neighborhoods in the floating community.
'VILLU VESHI' (Group 1)
Further development and adjustments underway on the initial layout and theme of the floating community .
Preparing the initial master plan for the floating house project.
Initial form model making.
Masterplan development workshop . (Group 1)
During this workshop , we determined the location most ideal for placing our floating community .
After that a swot analysis was done to determine the factors we can use in our design and the factors in site that we need to provide solutions for .
Furthermore , the economical livelihood of community was determined . Our group landed on the idea of Agri tourism , focusing on the aqua agriculture aspects we plan to develop in this community
The theme of our community is ' vilu veshi' (working progress )
We also developed a initial layout for the spaces and facilities required in the area , in regards to the relativity distance with the areas on the island .
Will be posting more details on the above works , as the masterplan design develops .
Final presentation with the local authorities of F .Nillandhoo.
