This is our story - On October 7, our lives changed forever. My family and I left our home to southern Gaza, hoping to return soon, but that did not happen. Our home was surrounded and then completely destroyed. Our home, once a bastion of hope, is now in ruins, a stark reminder of our shattered dream.

The goal of this fundraising campaign is to save my family - my parents, my siblings and myself - through the Rafah crossing into Egypt, which currently requires $5,000 per person. This campaign is our only chance for survival, and I humbly ask for your help at this critical time. I will provide you with a comprehensive breakdown of the expenses, committed to transparency and clarity.

Keep thinkin' of other things to write about. But how d'ya fit so much life into a couplea posts? Fuyumi and I had somethin' goin' on, but I don't remember how long it lasted.

I remember Hawks was my best friend. Coulda told him anything and he probably woulda helped. I miss him.

Never got to call Hawks by his given name or family name. Musta known him years and years before I ever got that permission. Mostly, I remember lookin' down at him in the hospital and he was almost defeated. Big ole oxygen mask was coverin' the bottom half of his face, so I couldn't see the expression he was makin'. But I'd bet he was tryin' to give me that smile that he gives the press.

Sat down in the chair and told him to level with me. He liked to hold me at a distance, but we're honest when it matters. Felt like forever, sittin' there and waitin' for him to say somethin'. Guess it worked. The damn broke and we started talking.
