Closing her eyes, she rolled over to once again lie on her back. “I don’t know why I called.”

“Were you having trouble sleeping?” he asked, concern lacing his low voice.

“Yes.”

“Nightmares?”

She shook her head, forgetting for a moment that he couldn’t see her. “No, no nightmares, just…”

“Is the bed not to your liking?”

She nearly snorted. “I’ve never been in a bed more comfortable, Red.”

“I’m glad to hear that,” he said, and she could almost hear the smile in his voice. After a beat of lingering silence, he asked, “What is it that’s keeping you awake, Lizzy?”

“It’s quiet,” she blurted.

“What was that?”

“It’s too quiet,” she repeated, her words little more than a hushed mumble. Clearing her throat, she did her best to ignore her growing embarrassment, thankful he wasn’t here to witness the flush on her cheeks. “This apartment you bought me—it’s clean, it’s secure… I feel safe, I do.”

“I feel a ‘but’ coming.”

“But I’m used to hearing leaking faucets and rumbling pipes, the too loud television from the room beside mine, the sound of cars pulling in and out of the lot...” She sighed, somehow both drained yet wired. “I’m used to having that noise distract me from… well, everything, and this silence just reminded of how alone I really am. I’m—I just… I feel so alone, Red.” When all she could hear was a faint rustling sound, she meekly whispered, “Red?”

“I’ll be there in ten minutes.”

She blinked, not sure she heard him right. “Um…”

“Elizabeth,” he said, just as she was about to hang up. “You may be many things, but alone is not one of them. You have me—always.”

OMG PLEASE CODA!!!!!!!! You’re going to be our saving angel. Mother Teresa. Jesus Christ. Pleaseeeeeee we desperately need your mind-blowing writing skills in order to salvage what’s left of our bodies riddled with bullets holes from being shot at point blank, from behind, with a fucking machine gun. PLEASE we need your top-notch surgical skills.

After being forced to watch that? Honestly, I’m surprised I’m still standing. I’m surprised that I haven’t lost the will to live yet, after seeing Red betrayed yet again by his precious Lizzy, painted as this gullible, frail character when he’s anything but. How they’re tarnishing him, it’s utterly disgraceful and I have no words. And who else was ready to throw up when Red was forced to lay in the lap of blonde bitch ??? And seeing Red blindly reach for his Lizzy??

It’s like watching a sick, neglected, emotionally abused puppy. He keeps licking her hand when those same hands belong to the feet that kick him. how dare they paint him like this. I will not stand by and see him trodden on the ground like this even if it’s the last thing I do

The animation was fine. It was not perfect by any means, to be frank it painfully reminded me of video games from a a decade ago, and I visibly recoiled whenever Ressler came onto screen with that face-from-hell but being an artist myself, I know they put their best effort in it, and I think it deserves kudos. Some of the scenes were nice. (Being honest tho, I truly think they shouldn’t have gone 3D, if this was going to be the end result. 2D/cartoon/anime style, or even stills, or heck, an audio-only episode with a blank screen would have gotten more positive reviews, I think.

WHAT WAS NOT FINE WAS THE WRITING. I can’t believe an episode like that can even be called a finale. Like, NO. No. No. Just, no. It gave us zero closure, barely any new information. And can Red get any more gullible? Aren’t Dembe and Red supposed to be masters of the art of deception??? And isn’t Liz supposed to be a *checks notes* profiler??? “Liz is embracing the her own darkness and becoming a *checks notes again* hero” was just... *facepalm*

And, lastly but not least... “Mother”. *laughs hysterically* oh my god I know Liz is desperate for family ties and she’s broken and all that but COME ON is she a five year old or what.
