was that NOAH CASTILLO i saw by the lighthouse today? i heard that the THIRTY year old who has been in nightrest for HIS WHOLE LIFE and works as a PHOTOGRAPHER has a reputation of being FRIENDLY, but also REBELLIOUS. they reside in FOG GATE & people in town usually associate them with EARLY BIRD AND A NIGHT OWL, ALWAYS UP FOR SOMETHING NEW, TAKING PICTURES EVERYWHERE HE GOES. let’s hope the killer doesn’t go after them next.

Noah and misunderstanding have been walking hand in hand since he was a kid. The beginning itself happened when his over-achieving parents heard him share any interest he has and start pushing him untill he's the "best" at it. High grades, after school activities, sports, piano... you name it his parents have probably already signed him up for.
At first he entertained them, kept doing what he was told, but before he even hit his senior year he was already burned out.
Deemed the black sheep of the family, Noah's parents focus shifted on their younger sibling, pushing them twice as hard to be better. Out of high school, Noah focused on odd jobs around Nightrest and Salem, striking friendships with various people along the way. The one thing that stuck with him though was photography after he got the chance to dabble in it from an odd job.
With his family up in the estates, it was surprising to see one of the Basilios in Fog Gate, but Noah will take it any day over the constant judgment from his family.

Their kiss during the party at Medusa was still fresh on her mind, but she did the same thing she did after they kissed during New Year's Eve all those months ago -- she pretended it just never happened. She and Noah got along perfectly well, so there was absolutely no need to complicate things between them. Aleyna loved it when he complimented her, though. Loved seeing him take her in with his eyes, causing her cheeks to flush. "Thank you, Noah," she said, smiling warmly as she scrunched up her nose. "Is it first date worthy? It's been a while, so I don't really know if I'm overdressed or-- underdressed, maybe? Or would this be better?" Aleyna asked as she held up the other dress.
"I'm just being honest," his shoulders go up in a shrug as he smiled her way. He can't deny that Aleyna was beautiful and honestly there's not any piece of fabric that can change his mind about it. "I think both dresses look good — especially good on you. And I'm sure your date will have their mouth open with either."

Tala wasn't really one to go out for drinks, but she did enjoy making her own at home. After a busy day at work, she could really use a glass of wine, at least, but she was all out. It had been a while since her last trip to the liquor store so she decided to stop by on her way home. She grabbed two bottles of wine, one of rum, and another of whiskey. She was able to manage to hold two bottles in each hand, but she didn't realize that she put her phone down on the shelf until she didn't have a good way to place the bottles down. "Could you grab that for me and just slide it into my pocket?" she asked the first person she saw.
"Don't they have baskets or something like that?" he questioned, though he still reached for her phone and did as asked. "What's up with all this alcohol? On your way to a party or something?"
"Oh yeah, cause that's so very healthy." Issy said, shaking her head at him but she was amused. Being someone who did so much throughout her day, the latest she found herself going into bed was normally eleven at night. Unless she was out with Gracia or out to dinner with Teo or her parents. "I don't have anything against it. I just don't see the point in changing things half way through the year. It's pointless, and sets a lot of things back. Now we have to rework some of our current sketches into the system, when I already have it on paper." And there was something comforting about left over graphite on the side of her palm after a good focusing moment. "I can imagine if you're going to bed at three and four a.m." Issy grinned before answering his next question, "Yes, please. Black. Are you coming to dinner at your parents next weekend?"
"I don't go judging your habits, don't come over here to judge mine." He pointed a finger at her, photography as a job gave him a lot of flexibility with his schedule and today he used the time to catch up on sleep, though that wasn't happening. "That sucks, they should keep the old ones the way they've been made." He poured coffee in two cups and went back to his couch. "I don't think so. There's no achievement worth sharing and you know how much they love those. Teo can stay warm under the spotlight this time around."
"What's the point of variety if the other options suck?" she asks, shooting him a look over how absurd the idea sounded. As if anyone could compare to her. Who were his other options, that bizarre horse girl or one of the town's Virgin Marys? She liked Sarah, but there was clearly a better option right here. "I can take a selfie and look amazing, you're not doing the lord's work, Noah," Azra retorts, rolling her eyes. Sure, she had friends, who were now dead, who had been photographers, but she didn't really think it was that hard of a skill if the subject already looked nice.
"I can't keep the job of a photographer if you're the only one I'm taking shots of." He points out, Noah will be the first one to agree how beautiful Azra is, however he sees beauty in many places and people and he thinks they're all worth capturing. "Now, give me some credit here. Someone can look good, but look completely out of place in pictures." He's worked with people who weren't giving the camera anything until there's someone to give them pointers. "And a phone can make some pretty good quality photos, but you can't beat an expensive camera and someone who knows how to edit the shots after."
"So why bother with anyone else?" Azra asks, tone laced with arrogance as she takes off her sunglasses to look at the screen of his camera. "Even the camera loves me," she adds, admiring herself before glancing to Noah. "The one behind it's not so bad either. You ever thought about taking pictures of yourself?"
"You're so right. Maybe it's good to have a little bit of variety, you know? Give the others the chance." He replied with playful grin, his tone light and teasing. "I do sometimes, but I prefer capturing the beauty around me. Besides someone has to make sure people have good pictures of themselves."
"Don't be silly, it's almost mid afternoon. If you take a nap now, then you'll be awake all night long." Naps were never really a thing Issy enjoyed because it felt more like a waste of valuable time she could spend on just about anything else. "Eh it was alright. You know how I've always done my own drawn sketches? Well now apparently the company is switching to tablets which is alright, but I don't know. Not as hands on but I'm just being picky." Issy said with a shrug, "What about you, though? Why are you trying to sleep so early in the afternoon- no work today?"
"Don't worry about me. I will be perfectly fine and in bed by three in the morning. Okay, maybe four, but still." Noah's sleep schedule has never been good, he just goes to sleep when he's tired and free to do it. "You can still do your sketches by hand. But welcome to the new century, it's about time." He laughed, as he stood up to make coffee. "Didn't get much sleep last night and I don't have any shoots today. Do you want coffee?"
she rolled her eyes and let out a groan at the way his voice boomed to her. if the whole town didn’t know, they surely did now. ❝ happy you enjoyed the show; what would you rate it? ❞
His expression shifted, his hand coming up to his chin in a thoughtful pose. "I'd say a solid nine out of ten. The energy was there, the movements were pretty good, you stayed up there for a good time and don't get me started on the grand finale. A true crowd-pleaser."
With everything at work ready for the next day, Issy found herself at Noah’s door. She’d seen him a few days prior, but he was easily one of her favorite people to spend time with. “Were you sleeping?” Iseul giggled as she walked past him and took a seat on his couch, bringing her legs beneath her as she made herself comfortable. “I got out of work early, figured I’d see if you wanted to hang out for a while.”
"I was trying to," he closed the door behind him and followed her back to his couch. "You know I do." Hanging out with someone so close to his family wasn't something he likes to do often, he saved that for when his parents force him to attend whatever pointless event they have to be seen at, but she wasn't like them. And he liked spending time with her. "How was work?"
Noah stirred on the couch when he heard his door bell ring. He turned the other way, counting on whoever it was they'd get the hint, but two rings later he was up. "What's so impor— oh, hey Issy," he rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and moved to the side, "what's up, you want to come in?"
"Perfect," he mumbled, taking a few more shots of Azra. "You know, if all my models were like you, my job would be so much easier." He gives her a smile as he looked through the photos on his camera, turning to show her his favorite of the day.
"Yeehaw, if it ain't town's favorite cowgirl!" Noah ginned, trying to keep himself from laughing. He's sure he'll forget about the whole bull situation soon, "that was somehow the best and worst thing I've seen at Medusa."
“Trade me,” Like some terrible back parking lot deal, Forrest handed the kitten on his shoulder to Noah so that he could free his own hands to take his camera back. The fisheye lens he’d recently splurged on just didn’t seem to want to attach to his camera, and after the two had struggled for upwards of half an hour, Forrest felt it was time to call it quits. “Did I - it’s the right size, swear! Okay… okay, I have this running theory that sometimes, inanimate objects are more… animate than we think. And they just change!” Waving the lens in Noah’s face unnecessarily, Forrest turned towards his newly adopted kitten, acting as if he were talking to the feline primarly, “Unless I messed up. Think it’ll work on your camera?”
"Oh," Noah took the kitten, holding it to his chest to pet it while he watch Forrest struggle with the lens. "I don't think that-" Noah cut himself off to pull back an inch before he ends up eating that lens. "I don't think that's what happened, and shit if that theory's real I have beef with my coffee table. I constantly stab my toe there." He laughs as he wiggles his fingers to play with the cat. "You sure it's the right camera model? No idea, can't knock 'em till you try 'em." He gave back the kitten and took the lens to try on his camera. The lens fitting right in. "Were you thinking of me when you were buying it?"
After an impromptu photoshoot by the beach, Aleyna had dragged Noah to the boutique with her because she wanted to find something cute to wear for the first date she'd be on in over a year. She had some money saved up, and after a moment of looking through the dresses in the price range she had in mind, Aleyna walked out in a dress with an expectant look. "So? What do you think?"
Noah was slowly pacing back and forth, skimming through the pictures he took earlier while he waited for Aleyna to come out the dressing room. At the sound of her voice Noah let his camera dangle from his neck as his eyes traveled the length of the dress. "Shit, Ley," he smiles as his eyes travel down her again. "You look gorgeous, but I doubt there's any clothes you won't look hot in."
“Well that’s - silly. What had you in such a bad mood, anyways?” Issy asked curiously, feeling a little less concern knowing it was nothing more than a insignificant fight. She’s never known Dominic to be anything but nice and kind. Then again she didn’t really hang out with him too much either, unlike with Noah who she’s gotten to know well over the last few years. Iseul tilted her head slightly questioning his statement, “I mean, it sounds like perhaps you both might need some therapy.” she said with a grin, finally letting her hand fall from his face. She's seen how he bickers and fights with his brother, so Issy was more than certain that he did not just take the hits. "Did you two apologize yet, or is the fight still going?"
At that point it was almost week after the engagement party and Noah was angry at the world, and there were high chances he was in the wrong to butt his head in his conversation, but who the hell sits down at the bar and doesn't shut up. That's what the tables were for. "Might be build up of everything, you know?" his shoulders go up in a shrug, whatever he was feeling at that moment was slowly going away now. "Okay, you saying I have issues?" he laughed with a shake of his head, but in reality Issy wasn't too far from the truth. "That's like most of Nightrest. Point me in someone's direction that doesn't need it." And after what everyone's been through it sure felt like a session or two can help. "Apologize to Dom? Hell no. Avoidance is my technique."
"A roleplay, you say? Now you've got me curious." There was a mischievous glint in his eye as he met her playful tone. "Why wait when we're perfectly dressed for cowboys and outlaws."
"Thank you," Aleyna said with a genuine smile before she looked down at her boots. "Maybe if I can find some in pastel colors," she added, knowing her wardrobe was full of color, before she looked back up at Noah, a hand wrapping itself around his arm as she continued to look at the photos. "As long as you direct me, because I'm not the best when it comes to poses and I'm not really sure what to do with my hands. I just smile and call it a day," Aleyna laughed. "Is that what you're planning on doing? Getting drunk tonight?"
"Come on now, when have I disappointed you with a bad picture?" He wasn't business savvy like his family, but what he lacked there he made up in creativity and a good eye. "Isn't that what we're supposed to be doing? There's no killer on the loose anymore, we're free to live like normal people again." Though normal was a foreign concept. He motions with his head for Ley to move back so they can get back to it. "Get closer to the building and rest your foot against it, tip your hat, and look down." He gave her instructions, taking a few shots. "Maybe a classic cowgirl holding the belt loops, so just rest your hands on your hips."
